AERO is the token of Aerodrome Finance, a decentralized exchange and liquidity hub on Base, the Ethereum layer 2 launched by Coinbase. Aerodrome went live in 2023 and builds on the Velodrome design: holders lock AERO as veAERO to vote on which liquidity pools receive new token emissions. Voters receive a share of the trading fees and incentives from the pools they support.
