What is Sui?

SUI is the native coin of Sui, a layer-1 blockchain built by Mysten Labs, a company founded by former engineers of Meta's Diem project. SUI pays transaction fees, can be staked with validators to secure the network, and is used in governance. Sui's mainnet launched in 2023, it uses the Move programming language, and the maximum supply is 10 billion SUI.
