What is Hyperliquid?

HYPE is the native token of Hyperliquid, a layer-1 blockchain built around an on-chain order book for perpetual futures and spot trading. HYPE pays gas on the network, is staked to validators that run the HyperBFT consensus, and plays a role in governance. The token launched in late 2024, with a large share distributed to early users through an airdrop.
