The short answer

Yes: since 13 October 2026 (UTC+8) Bitget lists perpetual contracts on Toyota, Sony, Mitsubishi UFJ, Murata and Taiyo Yuden, settled in USDT, open around the clock with up to 20x leverage. They are price contracts, not shares: you own no stock, receive no dividends and have no voting rights, and in the first day most of them traded only a few thousand dollars.

What Bitget listed

Bitget's announcement, published at 07:45 UTC+8 on 13 October, added five Japanese "hot stock perps": TOYOTAUSDT, JPSONYUSDT, JPMUFGUSDT, MURATAUSDT and TAIYOYUDENUSDT. One day earlier it had added five South Korean names on the same terms: Kia (KIAUSDT), LG Energy Solution (LGENERGYUSDT), Samsung Biologics (SSBIOLOGICSUSDT), KB Financial (KBFGUSDT) and Kakao (KAKAOUSDT). Bitget describes the Japanese set as a global auto maker, a games, image-sensor and entertainment group, one of Japan's largest banking groups, and two leading makers of multilayer ceramic capacitors, the tiny components inside phones, cars and AI servers; Murata, by Bitget's description, ranks first in the world in that market.

The contract terms are identical across all ten:

Bitget adds that it may change leverage and margin parameters as market conditions change, so check the contract page before you open a position. The Bitget exchange profile keeps the standard spot and futures fee schedule next to the other venues we track.

What you actually hold

Bitget's risk wording on both announcements is blunt, and it is the most important part for a retail reader. The product "is not a security", it does not represent ownership of the underlying stock or any stock token, and it carries no right to dividends, interest, votes, splits, spin-offs or subscription rights. It is not backed or guaranteed by any government or institution, and Bitget is neither the issuer nor the distributor of the shares.

In plain terms: a long TOYOTAUSDT position is a bet on the price line, margined in USDT. If you want Toyota's dividend or a share in a brokerage account, this is the wrong product. If you want to express a short-term view on Sony after a games announcement, or hedge Japanese exposure on a weekend from a crypto account, it does that, with the leverage and liquidation risk of any perpetual. We explained how dividends work on a similar Bitget stock perp in our ACN stock perp dividend explainer, and how direct share ownership differs in our guide to buying US stocks with USDC on Bybit.

The first-day numbers

We pulled Bitget's public futures API at 18:48 UTC on 13 October 2026, roughly a day after the Japanese listings went live.

ContractLast price (USDT)24 h volume (USDT)Funding rate
JPSONYUSDT24.235114,6040%
TAIYOYUDENUSDT67.2736,2540%
JPMUFGUSDT22.4895,5370%
TOYOTAUSDT18.8824,6240%
MURATAUSDT47.861,8120%
KIAUSDT (listed 12 Oct)80.7322,4680%

Two things follow. First, volume is thin. Bitget itself calls Toyota a global automotive sales leader, yet its Bitget perp turned over about $4,600 in a day; only Sony cleared six figures. Thin volume means a market order of a few thousand dollars can move the price against you, and stop orders can fill at worse levels than you set. Second, funding was flat at zero on every contract we checked, so holding positions cost nothing beyond the trading fee at that moment. Funding can change every 8-hour period, so check it before you hold through a settlement.

The book itself was tight at the top: at 18:48 UTC the best TOYOTAUSDT bid was 18.872 and the best ask 18.882, a gap of about 0.05%. Depth behind the first few levels is what thin volume puts at risk.

The hours problem

The Tokyo Stock Exchange trades from 9:00 to 11:30 and from 12:30 to 15:30 Japan time on weekdays, according to the exchange operator JPX. Bitget's contracts trade 24 hours a day, seven days a week. That leaves roughly 18 hours of every weekday and the whole weekend when the perp keeps trading but the share it tracks does not.

Bitget's announcements do not say how the contract's index behaves while Tokyo is closed. What we can see is that on 13 October at 18:48 UTC, when Tokyo was shut, the TOYOTAUSDT index read 18.8709 and the last trade 18.882, so the contract stayed close to its index. A gap at Tokyo's open after weekend news is the scenario to respect: a leveraged position held through it can be liquidated before you can react.

What it costs, worked through

Fees on a perpetual are charged on the full position, not your margin. Put $1,000 of margin behind a 5x long on TOYOTAUSDT and you control $5,000. A market order in and out costs 2 × $5,000 × 0.06% = $6, or 0.6% of your margin. Using limit (maker) orders on both legs costs 2 × $5,000 × 0.02% = $2. These are our calculations from Bitget's posted VIP 0 rates. At zero funding, that is the whole bill; any spread you pay crossing a thin book comes on top.

How to act on this

If you want to try these contracts, start small and with low leverage, use limit orders, and keep positions small enough that a Tokyo-open gap cannot wipe them out. Read the contract page for the current leverage cap before you trade. Quick answers

Can I buy Toyota shares on Bitget? No. TOYOTAUSDT is a perpetual contract that tracks the price; it gives no ownership, dividends or votes.

When can I trade Bitget's Japanese stock perps? Any time; Bitget lists them as 24/7, even though the Tokyo Stock Exchange is open only on weekday sessions.

How much leverage is allowed? Up to 20x at launch; Bitget says it can change that.

What does a trade cost? 0.06% taker or 0.02% maker on the position at VIP 0, plus funding every 8 hours, which was 0% when we checked.

Which Korean stocks did Bitget add? Kia, LG Energy Solution, Samsung Biologics, KB Financial and Kakao, on 12 October 2026.

What we could not verify

Bitget does not publish how the index for these contracts is built while the Tokyo and Seoul markets are closed, nor how corporate actions such as dividends or splits are reflected in the price. Bitget's pages also do not list the countries where stock perps are unavailable.
