EURC is a euro stablecoin issued by Circle, the company behind USDC, and is backed 1:1 by euro-denominated reserves. It was launched in 2022 (originally as Euro Coin) and is issued under the EU's MiCA rules as an electronic money token. EURC is used for euro payments, foreign-exchange swaps and DeFi across Ethereum, Solana, Base, Avalanche and other chains.
