What is NEO?
NEO is the native coin of Neo, a smart-contract blockchain founded in China in 2014 as Antshares and renamed in 2017. Neo reaches consensus with delegated Byzantine Fault Tolerance (dBFT). NEO is used for governance, including electing the council that runs consensus, and holding it generates GAS, the separate token that pays network fees. NEO has a fixed supply of 100 million and cannot be divided.
