The short answer
Bitget P2P lets a verified user buy or sell USDT, BTC and other coins directly with another user for local currency, and Bitget charges no fee on the trade itself; only your bank or wallet provider may charge. You need completed identity verification and a bound phone number, a payment method in your own name, and the coins sit in Bitget's escrow until the seller confirms the money has arrived.

What Bitget P2P is, in one paragraph
P2P (peer-to-peer) is a marketplace inside Bitget where users post ads with a price, a payment method and an order range, and other users take those ads. Bitget is not the seller. It locks the seller's coins when an order opens, releases them when the seller confirms payment, and steps in through an appeal if the two sides disagree. Bitget's introduction page, updated 13 April 2026, says the marketplace supports more than 100 payment methods, including bank transfers, SEPA, e-wallets and online payment systems, and that orders can start from about $1 worth of crypto.
If you are new to Bitget itself, start with the Bitget exchange profile, which covers registration, verification and the fee schedule you will meet once you move from P2P into spot or futures trading.
Before your first order: four things to set up
기사 표: 가로로 스크롤하거나 표 영역에 초점을 맞춘 뒤 방향키를 사용하세요.
| Requirement | Why it matters | Where Bitget says so |
|---|---|---|
| Identity verification (KYC) completed | P2P is locked until KYC is done | P2P introduction and the KYC FAQ |
| Phone number bound to the account | Required in addition to KYC | P2P introduction |
| Payment method in your own legal name | Bitget only accepts methods that match the KYC name | Buy and sell guides |
| Coins in the OTC account (for selling) | P2P orders draw from the OTC account, not spot | OTC transfer guide, 2 April 2026 |
The name rule catches people out most often. A transfer from a partner's or a friend's account is a third-party payment, and Bitget warns that third-party payments can lead to account restrictions. The second trap is where the coins are: Bitget's April 2026 guide says P2P trading runs through the OTC account, and spot balances cannot be used directly. Moving coins between your own Bitget accounts is instant and free (Assets → Transfer → choose OTC account as the destination).
How to buy USDT on Bitget P2P, step by step
This follows Bitget's official website guide; the app flow uses the same screens.
1. Open Buy Crypto → P2P Trading. 2. Add a payment method under P2P Management → Payment Methods, using an account in your own verified name. 3. Choose the Buy tab and the coin (for example USDT), enter the amount in your currency and filter by payment method. 4. Compare ads on three things Bitget itself points to: the price per coin, the order limits, and the seller's completion rate. 5. Tap Buy, enter the amount and confirm with Buy Now. 6. Send the money from your own account to the seller's details shown in the order. Pay the exact order amount and keep crypto words out of the payment note; Bitget lists both as payment rules. 7. Tap Paid. Notify the other party only after the transfer has actually gone out. 8. When the seller releases, the coins appear in your wallet; use View Asset to check.
Two buttons decide most disputes. Do not press Mark as paid before you have paid, and do not press Cancel order after you have paid unless the seller has already refunded you. Cancelling a paid order can leave you arguing for your own money.

Selling mirrors buying, with one rule that matters more than all the others: release the coins only after you have logged in to your own bank or wallet and seen the exact amount arrive.
1. Move the USDT to your OTC account. 2. In P2P Trading, pick the Sell tab, the coin, the amount and the payment method. 3. Choose a buyer by price, limits and completion rate, then confirm with Sell Now. 4. When the buyer marks the order as paid, open your banking app, not the chat, and check that the full amount is there. 5. Press Confirm the payment and send the coins.
Bitget's own sell guide says not to rely on transfer screenshots and not to release on promises that a payment is "delayed". If the buyer never pays, the order cancels itself when the timer runs out and nothing leaves your wallet.
Limits, currencies and fees
Bitget's P2P limit page sets the same caps for ordinary users and merchants: up to 3,000,000 USDT of buying per day and 30,000,000 USDT per week and per rolling 30 days. The day resets at midnight UTC+8 and the week runs Monday to Sunday in UTC+8. Those figures are platform ceilings; the real limit on any single order is the range the advertiser sets.
The supported-currency page lists dozens of fiat currencies, including USD and EUR in many countries, plus GBP, JPY, TRY, INR, VND, BRL, MXN, NGN, PHP, IDR, ARS, COP, PKR, EGP, KZT and others. Whether a currency has active ads at a fair price on a given day is a separate question that only the live marketplace answers.
On fees, Bitget says P2P has no trading or service fee. The spread between ads is the real cost: a seller asking 1% above the market is charging you 1%, even with a zero fee. Compare two or three ads before you commit.
Safety features worth switching on
Fund code. A Bitget guide published in April 2026 explains how to set a fund code in Security Settings and use it to release P2P orders instead of waiting for SMS two-factor codes. Bitget presents it as a fix for slow or blocked SMS and as protection against phishing texts. If you reset a forgotten fund code, withdrawals and P2P trading are restricted for 24 hours, so pick one you will remember.
Verification ads ("T&C" tag). Some whitelisted merchants post sell ads that ask the buyer for extra documents, such as an ID photo, a selfie with the ID, a bank statement or proof of address, before showing payment details. If an ad carries the T&C tag and you are not ready to share those files, cancel at the first pop-up; Bitget says that cancelling at that stage does not hurt your completion rate.
Appeals. If a seller does not release after you paid, or a buyer claims to have paid and nothing arrived, use the Appeal button in the order. Bitget's support reviews the evidence from both sides, so keep your bank receipt and keep the conversation inside the order chat.
How Bitget P2P compares with Binance and Bybit
All three run the same escrow model and none charges ordinary users a fee on P2P trades. The differences are in the details: which local payment methods have depth, how merchants are vetted, and how the appeal process feels in your country. We wrote the same walkthrough for Binance P2P and Bybit P2P. For the bigger picture of fees and products after the USDT is in your account, see Bybit vs Bitget and Binance vs Bitget.
How to act on this
If you do not have a Bitget account yet, register through our Bitget link with code nexu888, complete verification, bind your phone and set a fund code before you place the first P2P order. P2P itself is free, so the code matters for what comes next: spot and futures trading fees once the USDT is in your account. The Bitget profile lists those fees, and current Bitget offers sit on our activities page.
Quick answers
Does Bitget charge a fee for P2P? No. Bitget says it charges no trading or service fee on P2P; your payment provider may charge its own fee.
Can I use P2P without KYC? No. Identity verification and a bound phone number are required before you can trade.
What is the minimum order? Bitget says orders can start from about $1 worth of crypto, but each ad sets its own minimum.
Why can't I sell the USDT I just bought on spot? P2P uses the OTC account. Transfer the coins from spot to OTC first; the transfer is instant and free.
What if the seller does not release? Make sure you marked the order as paid, then open an appeal from the order page.
What we could not verify
Bitget's buy guide from 2024 says purchased coins land in the Funding wallet, while its April 2026 guide calls the P2P balance the OTC account; your app may show either label. The order time limit and the number of cancellations that trigger a temporary ban are not published on the pages we read.
