The short answer

For a regular account, OKX charges 0.080% for spot maker orders and 0.100% for spot taker orders, while Binance charges 0.100% on both sides, so OKX is cheaper when you place limit orders and the two are level when you buy at market. On USDT-margined perpetual futures the two exchanges are identical at 0.020% maker and 0.050% taker. Binance pulls ahead on spot once you pay fees in BNB, which takes 25% off and brings both sides to 0.075%; OKX tends to win on withdrawals over Layer-2 networks and TON.

How we compared the two fee schedules

We read OKX's fee table on 13 October 2026 at 12:49 SGT (04:49 UTC) from the same public data that powers okx.com/fees: one table for spot, one for futures, and the withdrawal fee list. Binance's trading fees come from its spot and USDⓈ-M futures fee pages as recorded in our exchange facts on 10 October; its withdrawal fees come from Binance's public network list, read at the same minute as OKX's.

All numbers below are for the entry tier: a newly verified account with no special volume, which is where almost every reader starts. Both exchanges lower fees as 30-day volume or account size grows, and both pages show the full ladder. Our standing Binance vs OKX comparison covers products, KYC and availability; this article is only about what you pay.

Trading fees: OKX vs Binance at the regular tier

Fee (regular user)OKXBinanceBinance with BNB
Spot maker0.080%0.100%0.075%
Spot taker0.100%0.100%0.075%
USDT perpetual maker0.020%0.020%0.018%
USDT perpetual taker0.050%0.050%0.045%

The maker fee applies when your order rests on the book and someone else fills it; the taker fee applies when you hit an existing order, which is what a market order does. On OKX, the gap between 0.080% and 0.100% is a direct reward for patience. On Binance, the two are the same unless you are higher up the VIP ladder.

The BNB discount is the main structural difference. Binance lets you pay trading fees in BNB from your balance: spot fees drop by 25% and USDⓈ-M futures fees by 10%. OKX's fee table for regular users shows no token-based discount, so its rates are the rates. If you already hold BNB, or are willing to keep a small amount for fees, Binance spot becomes the cheaper venue on both maker and taker orders.

What that means in dollars

Fees are percentages, so the cleanest way to compare is a fixed trade size. By our arithmetic on the rates above:

  • A $10,000 spot buy at market (taker): $10.00 on OKX, $10.00 on Binance, $7.50 on Binance with BNB.
  • A $10,000 spot limit order that rests on the book (maker): $8.00 on OKX, $10.00 on Binance, $7.50 on Binance with BNB.
  • Opening and closing a $10,000 perpetual position at market: $5.00 each way, so $10.00 in total on either exchange; $9.00 on Binance with BNB.
  • Someone trading $50,000 of spot a month at market: $50 a month on either venue, $37.50 on Binance with BNB.

Leverage changes the picture more than most people expect. A $1,000 margin deposit at 10x controls $10,000 of contract value, and the fee is charged on the $10,000, not the $1,000. A trader who opens and closes such a position four times a week pays about $40 a week in taker fees on either exchange, which is 4% of the margin. Funding payments come on top of that and are often larger than the trading fee; our rates page and funding board track both venues.

When you climb the VIP ladder

OKX's first spot VIP tier starts at $1 million of 30-day spot volume or $100,000 in assets, and cuts fees to 0.0675% maker and 0.080% taker. VIP 2 needs $5 million of volume or $200,000 in assets and charges 0.060% and 0.070%. On futures, OKX's VIP 1 starts at $5 million of volume or $100,000 in assets, with 0.016% maker and 0.045% taker.

Binance runs a similar volume-and-holdings ladder and still applies the BNB discount on top. We did not re-read its VIP thresholds for this piece, so we are not quoting them; the full table sits on Binance's own fee page. For most retail accounts the regular tier and the BNB choice matter far more than VIP rules.

Withdrawal fees: where the real gaps are

Trading fees are close. Withdrawal fees are not, and they are charged per transfer, so they hurt small accounts most. These are the fees each exchange listed on 13 October 2026 at 12:49 SGT.

BTC on Bitcoin0.000015 BTC0.00002 BTC
ETH on Ethereum0.00018 ETH0.00015 ETH
USDC on Ethereum2.75 USDC0.5 USDC

Three patterns stand out. Tron, the network most people use for USDT, costs the same 1.5 USDT on both. Binance's cheapest USDT route is BNB Smart Chain at one cent, and OKX does not offer that network for USDT at all. OKX's cheapest routes are its Layer-2 and TON options, where the fee is a fraction of a cent to two cents.

Converted at the prices in our market feed at the same time (BTC $83,433, ETH $2,515), a Bitcoin withdrawal costs about $1.25 on OKX and $1.67 on Binance, and an Ethereum mainnet withdrawal about $0.45 on OKX and $0.38 on Binance. Binance also offers Bitcoin over Lightning for 0.000001 BTC, about eight cents.

Minimums matter too. OKX's minimum USDT withdrawal is 2 USDT on most networks but 10 USDT on Tron; Binance's is 3 to 5 USDT depending on the network. For a deeper network-by-network table of Binance against another venue, see our USDT withdrawal fee comparison.

Which one is cheaper for you

  • You buy at market a few times a month and hold: the trading fee is identical (0.100%) unless you use BNB on Binance. Choose the exchange whose withdrawal network suits your wallet: BNB Smart Chain points to Binance, TON or Arbitrum to OKX.
  • You place limit orders: OKX's 0.080% maker fee beats Binance's 0.100%, but Binance with BNB at 0.075% beats both.
  • You trade perpetual futures: the base rates are identical; the 10% BNB discount gives Binance a small edge, and funding will matter more than either fee.
  • You move small amounts often: look at the withdrawal table first. One cheap network can save more than a year of fee-tier differences.

Whichever you choose, finish identity verification before you deposit; on OKX the level you complete decides your limits, as our OKX KYC level guide explains. Both profiles, OKX and Binance, list availability by country.

How to act on this

If your trading is mostly spot limit orders or futures, the cheapest move is to open the account with a code that returns part of every fee. With OKX code nexu888, 40% of your trading fees come back to you, which by our arithmetic turns a 0.100% taker fee into 0.060% net. On Binance, code 11350287 returns 25% of fees, so 0.100% becomes 0.075% net before any BNB discount. The side-by-side numbers for both venues stay current on the Binance vs OKX page.

Binance's VIP thresholds were not re-read for this article, and neither exchange's page says whether a partner fee rebate is calculated before or after the BNB discount. Card and local bank deposit fees vary by country and payment provider and are not covered here.
