What is Aave?
AAVE is the governance token of Aave, a decentralized lending protocol where users deposit crypto for others to borrow, or borrow against their own collateral. Holders vote on upgrades and risk settings and can stake AAVE to help cover shortfalls in the system. The project began in 2017 as ETHLend, and its original LEND token was swapped into AAVE in 2020.
