Gate perpetual fees: reserve entry and exit costs together
Budget the exit before opening
For a Gate perpetual position, opening commission is only the first execution expense. Estimate an exit using its own expected notional and liquidity role. Keep funding transfers and execution price impact in separate entries so a round-trip trading-fee estimate cannot masquerade as total holding cost.
A changing-notional example
Hypothetical example: an opening fill has 3,600 USDT notional and consumes liquidity. A later closing fill has 3,450 USDT notional and also consumes liquidity. Applying the reviewed perpetual taker baseline gives 1.80 USDT and 1.725 USDT respectively, for a theoretical sum of 3.525 USDT before account rounding.
These notionals are invented, and the example does not calculate position profit. Margin posted is not the commission base used here. A changed exit price changes closing notional; doubling the opening fee would miss that distinction.
Stress the execution plan
An intended resting exit may instead cross the spread, or may remain unfilled when urgency increases. Budget the role that the eventual execution actually receives. Partial reductions require their own executed notionals rather than the original position size on every row.
Funding depends on the contract and holding interval and is not assigned a numerical value here. Before opening, check the actual instrument, margin arrangement, exit controls and available balance. If these are unresolved, the arithmetic remains a trading-fee scenario rather than a complete affordability assessment.
