OKX monthly spot cost: what the maker gap is actually worth
For 1,000 quote units of hypothetical monthly spot buying, the reviewed OKX regular-user fee is 0.80 as maker or 1.00 as taker. The 0.20 difference follows from rates checked on 2026-10-10, and assumes all the stated notional fills at the selected role.
A small decision table
| Execution assumption | Reviewed rate | Monthly trading fee |
|---|---|---|
| Entire purchase fills as maker | 0.08% | 0.80 |
| Entire purchase fills as taker | 0.10% | 1.00 |
The arithmetic is 1,000 × 0.0008 = 0.80 and 1,000 × 0.001 = 1.00. Subtracting gives 0.20 quote units. This is a regular-user standard-pair spot example, with fee paid outside the stated notional.
Before trying to capture that difference
A planned purchase and a completed fill are different records. If you attempt maker execution, confirm what actually filled before assigning the lower rate. An unfilled amount cannot be counted as a completed monthly purchase. A mixed-role purchase needs separate subtotals.
Spread, fiat conversion and transfer charges also remain outside the trading-fee subtotal.
Reconcile the month
Use the trade history to collect executed quote notional, charged fee and fee asset for each fill. Group by actual maker or taker role where available; otherwise compare with the account fee schedule and retain the unresolved role as an open question. Convert unlike fee currencies on a documented basis before adding them.
