How much missed-fill risk can an OKX maker order justify?

Put a price on waiting

An OKX resting order can save commission only if it fills under the relevant maker treatment. A lower scheduled rate does not compensate automatically for a missed purchase or an adverse replacement price. Decide your acceptable delay before submitting the instruction.

Compare savings with replacement expense

Hypothetical example: an eligible 450 USDT spot fill would incur 0.36 USDT as maker and 0.45 USDT as taker under the reviewed inputs. The fee difference is 0.09 USDT. If waiting eventually requires paying an additional assumed 0.20 USDT for the same asset quantity, that replacement expense exceeds the fee saving by 0.11 USDT.
The replacement expense is invented and does not predict market direction. The arithmetic assumes the same original notional for the fee comparison; actual repricing can also change notional and commission. Recompute from real fills rather than treating this threshold as a standing trading signal.

Decide how an unfinished order ends

Specify whether to leave the order resting, cancel it or accept a marketable replacement when conditions change. A limit price caps permitted execution price but does not establish maker status. Some quantity can execute immediately while the remainder rests.
After completion, inspect execution roles and remaining quantity. An unfilled instruction has no realized maker saving. Keep price discipline and urgency beside commission arithmetic; the smallest fee line is useful only when the resulting execution meets the original purchasing need.

The fee baseline and its limits

OKX spot maker 0.08% and taker 0.1% on the exchange's published fee page, last checked on 2026-10-10. That is the regular user base schedule, before token discounts and account-specific benefits. Confirm the product, pair, region and your own tier before using it. It says nothing about payment, withdrawal or rebate charges.
