Missing deposit memo: build an account-allocation request
Save the memo field exactly as it was submitted, including an empty field. A shared receiving address can leave the platform needing additional evidence to associate a transfer with your account.
Before opening the case
Gather the following records without editing their meaning:
- The receiving screen showing whether this asset and network required a memo, tag or destination tag.
- The sending receipt with the destination and the submitted tag visible.
- The original transaction reference and the instructions belonging to your intended account.
A blank memo and an incorrect memo are different descriptions. Tell support which record you actually have. Do not silently replace the submitted value with the value you wish you had used.
Suggested case wording
> My receiving instructions required a tag. The attached withdrawal record shows the value actually submitted. Please assess whether the transfer reached an address you control and what ownership evidence you need for an account-allocation review.
Adapt that wording to the record. If you cannot establish that the venue received the asset, say so. A correct address by itself does not resolve ownership, and a later tag change cannot reassign funds held by an unrelated recipient.
While awaiting an answer
Keep the original withdrawal intact. Sending again with a corrected tag creates a separate transfer; only consider a requested follow-up after verifying the instructions through official support. Ask for applicable conditions before authorizing any handling. Manual allocation may be unavailable, and a completion date cannot be inferred from the missing field.
Keep credentials out of the request. Nobody receiving your screenshots needs your private key, seed phrase or login code. Refuse unsolicited wallet connections, remote-control sessions and prepaid recovery offers. For authentication you initiate inside the verified service, consult security guidance.
Review memo and tag when comparing the receipt with receiving instructions.
