Identify the product before downloading anything

A search for “Bitget app” can lead to the exchange’s trading application or to Bitget Wallet. This guide concerns the exchange application at the official Bitget download page. The wallet is a separate product; its recovery and signing instructions should not be substituted for exchange login instructions.

The practical starting question is what you are trying to do. Someone returning to an existing trading account needs the exchange app and the account’s normal login route. Someone reviewing an onchain wallet connection has a different task. Installing whichever icon appears first in a search result can leave you following instructions for the wrong product even if both products use the Bitget name.

After the store completes installation, open the app from your device’s application list. A browser advertisement offering an extra “activation” download is not part of the store route documented in the guide. Avoid a file forwarded through a chat, an unrelated “latest APK” directory or a link that arrived with an urgent account warning. A filename containing Bitget is not evidence of origin. If the download was interrupted, return to the official route rather than finding a replacement on a mirror.

Bitget’s guide describes an Android setting commonly labelled “Install unknown apps” under special app access. Select the browser that actually downloaded the file and review its “Allow from this source” setting. Device manufacturers can arrange menus differently, so identify the permission by its function rather than assuming every screen matches an older screenshot.

Next, locate the downloaded package through the browser’s downloads or the device file manager and use Android’s installation dialog. Once the app is installed, the guide says the downloaded APK can be deleted without removing the installed application. As a practical housekeeping step, review whether the browser still needs permission to install outside-store packages; it is not a general permission that every browser needs for normal web browsing.

The presence of a warning is a reason to examine the source and the precise message. This article does not recommend dismissing security warnings automatically. If you cannot resolve a mismatch or understand what the operating system is blocking, leave the file unopened and verify the route through official support.

iPhone: follow the App Store route

Bitget’s iOS Academy guide starts at the official download site, continues to the App Store, and then opens the installed app. An Android APK is not the installation route described for iPhone or iPad. Likewise, the Mac OS client on the download page is a computer option, not an alternative iPhone installer.

The older iOS guide discusses changing an Apple account’s country or region when a listing is absent. That passage does not establish your account’s current eligibility or that a region change is appropriate for you. For an unavailable listing, check the current store information and official support instead of borrowing a stranger’s Apple account, accepting a downloaded configuration profile, or treating a search result as permission to bypass an access restriction.

Keep your store identity and exchange identity conceptually separate. Successfully obtaining an app from a store answers how the software reached your device. It does not answer whether Bitget can provide a particular product to your residence, whether identity verification is complete, or whether your account can use a newly advertised feature.

Opening the app is a different decision from creating an account

Bitget’s mobile support guide separates downloading the application from creating an account and setting security controls. If you already have an account, use the existing login path.
