Bitget PUMPBTC Margin and Loan Closure: What Holders Should Check Before October 22

6 min

The short answer

Bitget will stop PUMPBTC borrowing in its unified trading account on October 21, 2026, at 18:00 UTC+8, then close its margin function and reduce its collateral ratio to zero on October 22 at the same local time. If you owe PUMPBTC or rely on it as collateral, review repayment and replacement collateral before that second deadline; the notice does not itself establish a spot-trading or withdrawal suspension.

The practical question is which role PUMPBTC plays in your account. A positive token balance, a debt denominated in that token and collateral supporting another position require different checks. Start with the official PUMPBTC notice, then use the account checklist below. The NexuAlpha Bitget profile provides the broader venue context and official-domain references.

The timetable, with the time zone made explicit

The event notice names two separate cutoffs. Treat them as separate calendar reminders rather than a single “delisting day.” These UTC conversions are our arithmetic: subtract eight hours from the exchange's stated UTC+8 times.

Bitget asks users to repay relevant outstanding liabilities before the October 22 cutoff and warns that system liquidation may otherwise occur. It also says the collateral ratio can decline gradually during the transition. The final deadline therefore should not be treated as a promise that collateral support stays unchanged until the last minute.

First decide whether you are a holder, borrower or collateral user

If you only hold a positive balance: open your account's asset and liability views before deciding that no action is needed. Record whether there are open leveraged orders or positions elsewhere in the same account. The review question is “what depends on this asset?” rather than “do I still see the token balance?” A balance screenshot alone cannot answer the first question.

If you have a PUMPBTC liability: check the denomination of the liability and its associated interest in the actual account. Do not assume that buying another similarly named token settles it. Keep the symbol from the notice and the liability record side by side. If anything is ambiguous, send Bitget support the notice URL and the exact liability label, without sharing login credentials.

If PUMPBTC supplies collateral: list the positions that would need support after it stops contributing. The relevant comparison is available adjusted equity against account requirements, not just the market value of your holdings. Avoid making an unrelated transfer while you are still establishing which assets are supporting existing exposure.

Why collateral can disappear while tokens remain visible

Bitget's UTA introduction describes an account that brings spot, margin and futures products together. Eligible assets can support shared margin, and certain account activity can create borrowing automatically. That makes a check of the liabilities screen useful even for someone who does not remember submitting a standalone loan application.

The collateral calculation guide explains that a token's contribution depends on its quantity, the applicable index price and its collateral ratio. Reducing the ratio to zero removes its contribution to adjusted equity. It does not mean the token's market price is zero or that the displayed quantity has vanished.

This distinction changes the order of your checks. First establish the current account requirements. Then examine the projected collateral composition. Finally consider whether a planned repayment, position reduction or addition of another eligible asset addresses the actual shortfall. A portfolio value displayed at the top of a screen is not a substitute for this account-level review.

A practical review sequence before the closure

1. Identify the account mode. Save the mode name alongside the notice. Product rules and collateral controls depend on the mode, so do not follow a screenshot from a different account setup blindly. 2. Capture the current state. Record PUMPBTC quantity, any liability, interest, open leveraged orders and the margin readings displayed by Bitget. Include the observation time. This gives support a concrete description if a figure later changes unexpectedly. 3. Inspect dependencies. Write down which existing positions depend on the shared collateral pool. Review orders as well as filled positions; an unfilled order still needs attention when the exchange names an order-cancellation cutoff. 4. Compare available responses. Repaying debt, reducing exposure and adding eligible collateral solve different problems. Check what each proposed operation changes before submitting it, including whether an asset transfer removes margin from the same pool. 5. Verify the result after acting. Reopen liabilities and collateral settings instead of relying solely on an order-success notification. Confirm that the intended debt or collateral change is reflected in the account. 6. Recheck before the deadlines. Read the current announcement again and inspect account notifications. Keep the official URL in your notes so a later amendment can be checked against the original event.

These steps are our suggested review workflow, not a claim that Bitget provides a dedicated PUMPBTC migration button. For subsequent platform research, return to the Bitget directory entry rather than searching for a replacement login link in social-media replies.

What if you cannot disable the collateral switch?

The official collateral-settings guide says custom settings are available in Advanced Mode. On the web, its documented route is Trading Settings, then Collateral Settings; the app also provides access through trading settings. The same guide describes checks that can prevent removal, including liabilities, orders or positions, and insufficient adjusted equity after removal.

A blocked switch is therefore a reason to inspect dependencies. Repeatedly tapping it will not reveal which obligation remains. Save the exact error text, match it against the guide and review the implicated account item. If you still cannot reconcile the screen with your account state, ask support which condition is blocking the operation. Do not change account modes simply to make an unfamiliar warning disappear.

Institutional loans need a separate review

Bitget's institutional UTA loan guide uses loan-to-value to evaluate outstanding borrowing against the value of the risk unit's eligible assets. The PUMPBTC announcement specifically asks institutional borrowers to recalculate that measure when collateral becomes ineligible.

For an institutional account, prepare a before-and-after collateral list for the applicable risk unit. Check the dedicated borrowing account and related subaccounts with the person responsible for the loan. Keep this review separate from a retail margin-screen check: confirming one screen looks normal does not establish that the entire institutional risk unit is unaffected.

Quick answers

Is PUMPBTC being removed from spot trading?

This article covers the UTA margin-and-loan notice. It does not confirm a general spot-market closure. Bitget links a separate spot-margin announcement; that is another product scope and should be read separately if you use it.

Does a zero collateral ratio mean PUMPBTC is worthless?

No. Collateral eligibility concerns the value counted for account margin. Market valuation and the quantity held are separate questions.

Can I wait until October 22 to think about borrowing?

New borrowing stops earlier, on October 21 at 18:00 UTC+8. Existing liabilities also need attention before the following day's deadline, and the notice describes a gradual collateral-ratio reduction.

What remains unverified?

The notice does not provide a complete intermediate haircut schedule, a personal repayment amount or a universal outcome for every account. Those points require the current platform data and your own account records. No token-price forecast or withdrawal timetable follows from this notice.
