CeFi Gains 1.34% as AI Falls 1.61% in a Split Crypto Rebound

8 min

The short answer

Crypto's rebound was uneven in a November 2 sector snapshot: CeFi rose 1.34% over 24 hours while AI fell 1.61%, according to SoSoValue figures reported by Odaily and PANews. Bitcoin gained 1.04% and recovered above $78,000; Ether gained 1.06% and approached $2,300. For a trader holding sector tokens, the immediate task is to compare the actual holding with its sector, rather than treat a green Bitcoin screen as confirmation that the entire portfolio recovered.

Odaily published its report at 10:19 Singapore Time (SGT). Both reports name SoSoValue as their data source, so their agreement confirms the published figures across two outlets while leaving the underlying measurement with one provider. The snapshot describes reported performance over a particular window; it does not identify why buyers and sellers acted. Odaily's sector report supplies the figures. PANews' report carries the same readings.

The gap between CeFi and AI was 2.95 percentage points

The clearest comparison is the distance between the two sector readings. Subtracting AI's negative 1.61% from CeFi's positive 1.34% gives 2.95 percentage points. That is our arithmetic on the reported returns. Calling it a 2.95% rise in the whole market would change the meaning: it measures the gap between two reported sector moves, not the return of a market portfolio.

Within CeFi, OKB rose 2.72% and BNB rose 1.56%. Their reported gains were larger than the sector reading by 1.38 and 0.22 percentage points respectively. A person holding either token therefore had a different reported reference move from someone using the CeFi aggregate. The sector label alone does not tell the holder's result. All three figures come from the November 2 report.

The same distinction matters on the weak side. The AI sector fell 1.61%, while AKE fell 22.42% in the reports. The difference is 20.81 percentage points. That calculation shows how far a named constituent's reported performance can sit from the group reading. It does not tell us how much AKE contributed to the sector result because the reports do not supply the weights needed for that calculation.

For anyone reviewing losses, begin with the token actually held and the period used on the account statement. An AI-sector headline cannot replace the return of a specific AI token. Equally, a gain in BNB does not establish the performance of every exchange-related asset. Keep the aggregate and the holding on separate lines in the review.

Bitcoin and Ether recovered together, with no all-sector rally

Bitcoin's reported 1.04% gain and Ether's 1.06% gain were close: a difference of 0.02 percentage points. The reports describe Bitcoin back above $78,000 and Ether approaching $2,300. “Above” and “approaching” are the precision available in those reports. They do not supply an exact trade price for either asset, so those round levels should not be used as executable order quotes.

The sector board remained mixed. Layer1 rose 0.35% and PayFi rose 0.05%. Meme fell 0.25%, Layer2 fell 0.34% and DeFi fell 0.75%, alongside AI's 1.61% decline. Of these seven named sector readings, three were positive and four were negative. That count uses only the sectors named in the two articles; it is not a count of all cryptocurrencies or every category tracked by SoSoValue.

DeFi-0.75%MORPHO -5.45%

Source for the table: Odaily, citing SoSoValue. The TRUMP figure is explicitly intraday, so it should not be ranked as if it shared the sector table's 24-hour window.

Our reading of that board is a split rebound. The larger assets described in the reports gained, while more of the listed sectors fell than rose. The figures support that description for this snapshot. They do not establish a durable rotation, the arrival of new money, or a change in the direction of the next session.

A standout token can give the wrong impression of its group

The Meme row is a useful example of why a single visible winner can mislead. TRUMP was reported up 10.16% intraday even as the Meme sector fell 0.25% over 24 hours. These observations can both be true. They describe different objects and different windows. Subtracting them would produce a number, but that number would not be a clean same-period comparison.

AVAX and XRP offer simpler comparisons within the reported 24-hour discussion. AVAX rose 1.45% against Layer1's 0.35%; the difference is 1.10 percentage points. XRP rose 0.32% against PayFi's 0.05%; the difference is 0.27 percentage points. Those gaps describe the relative returns reported for the named token and sector. They do not identify the average token's experience or explain the sector methodology.

On the losing side, POL fell 2.55% against Layer2's 0.34% decline, and MORPHO fell 5.45% against DeFi's 0.75% decline. The reported underperformance gaps were 2.21 and 4.70 percentage points respectively. A holder using only the smaller sector decline to judge the day would understate the move reported for those particular tokens.

Apply the same comparison to your own watchlist: asset, return window, sector reference. If the token does not appear in this report, get its own observation before assigning it a result. The table cannot answer for an unlisted holding, and a sector name cannot establish which assets a particular reader owns.

The sector reading and the similarly named index were different

The reports also list sector indices: ssiGameFi rose 1.85%, ssiCeFi rose 1.53% and ssiMAG7 rose 1.05%. The CeFi sector figure in the same reports was 1.34%. The 0.19 percentage-point difference between ssiCeFi and the CeFi sector is another reason to copy the full label when recording a reference return.

Neither report gives enough detail to reconstruct the index calculations from the named tokens. We cannot attribute that difference to a particular weight, rebalance or constituent change. A reader comparing a product with an index should first identify the exact reference named by the product. Using 1.34% in one calculation and 1.53% in another changes the input even though both labels contain “CeFi.”

A practical note can be short: “CeFi sector, +1.34%, reported November 2” or “ssiCeFi, +1.53%, same report.” Keeping that label beside the number preserves the distinction when you return to the comparison later. Neither index move proves that a particular exchange product available to your account tracks it.

Review the position before turning a headline into an order

For a spot holder, start with the amount held, the asset's actual account price and the cost of the position. Use the news snapshot as a reference point for the market discussion. Do not enter Bitcoin's reported “above $78,000” description as though it were the current bid or offer on your trading screen. For an existing order, check the pair and price you set against the order you still intend to place.

For a derivatives position, review the exact contract and the account's own position information before drawing a conclusion from a sector return. The report supplies no contract-level funding, open interest or liquidation figures. There is therefore no basis here for describing a short squeeze, a funding advantage or a liquidation cascade. A directional token return alone cannot establish any of those claims.

The NexuAlpha funding board is a separate place to examine funding information. The liquidations board addresses a different question, observed liquidations. Neither board's numbers have been imported into this sector story. If you consult them, match the asset and observation time to the position you are reviewing rather than assume that every number describes the same window.

For someone holding several tokens in the same category, write each holding's result separately before calculating a portfolio total. As an illustration of the method, portfolio return requires the sizes of the holdings as well as their returns. The source articles supply sector and token changes, but not your holdings or purchase prices. They cannot calculate your profit or loss.

For a pending order, make this review in the account you will use:

  1. Read the exact asset and pair on the order. Keep OKB, BNB and the CeFi reference on separate lines.
  2. Compare the account's selected return window with the report's 24-hour window. Mark TRUMP's intraday figure separately.
  3. Check the order price and remaining quantity against the instruction you intend to leave in place. Record any decision against that order, rather than the sector headline.

What the next sector comparison should preserve

A useful follow-up needs the same labels and a clearly identified new observation time. Compare CeFi with CeFi and AI with AI; keep the sector series separate from the ssi indices. If a later reading narrows the 2.95 percentage-point gap, that would describe a change in the reported relative performance. It would still need its own figures before it could become a news claim.

The cause remains open in the sources read for this article. Neither report provides order-flow evidence or a documented catalyst for the CeFi gain or AI decline. We have therefore left out explanations involving institutional buying, a return of confidence in exchange custody or investors abandoning AI. To support one of those explanations would require evidence beyond these price snapshots.

Quick answers

Does CeFi's gain show that exchange deposits are safe?

The reports describe token-price performance. They do not report a review of exchange liabilities, withdrawal processing or account protection. Use the relevant account and official status information for a transfer decision; the sector return does not answer that question.

Can AI tokens rise while the AI sector falls?

This snapshot does not give every AI token's return. It supplies a group decline and one named constituent, AKE. A statement about another token requires its own observed return, with a matching window.

What should be checked first if the portfolio missed the rebound?

Check the assets and weights actually held. Then compare each asset with the appropriate reported sector and time window. The November 2 figures show enough divergence to make that holding-by-holding review more useful than a single market headline.
