OKX: Audit collateral before separating strategies
A balance label cannot settle a margin question
Plan an OKX sub-account around the exposure you intend to separate. An account used for one strategy is different from a unified trading arrangement that shares collateral. Establish which arrangement applies before funding a derivatives strategy.
Questions for the account review
Which assets can support the positions? Who may change permissions? Can the operator move funds out? These questions define the useful boundary. A separate strategy ledger helps attribution, while security still depends on the controlling main account.
Trace an operational cycle
Name the intended destination before an internal transfer, check the resulting balance, and record the allocation in the strategy log. Use a dedicated API key for automation and leave withdrawal authority outside the bot’s permissions. Check the active account context before any manual order.
Cost and login checks
Some platforms combine parent and child trading volume for fee purposes. Independent login and authentication recovery also need confirmation before a colleague receives access.
