Binance Alpha ACU Competition: Which Buys Count, How Boosts Work and When to Claim

7 min

The short answer

Binance's Acurast (ACU) Alpha competition ranks eligible participants by effective purchase volume after they press Join, with 556 ACU allocated to each of the top 2,000 qualifying users. The promotion runs from October 16, 2026 at 13:00 UTC to October 23 at 13:00 UTC; sales, bridges, third-party dApp transactions and Alpha-to-Alpha pairs do not count toward the competition.

The headline advertises $100,000 worth of rewards, but the operational allocation is a shared pool of 1,112,000 ACU tokens. That dollar headline is neither a fixed cash payment nor a reward for everyone who trades. Start with the actual ranking rules and the cost of your intended purchase, rather than the largest number on the banner. The Binance profile provides venue context, while the activities board helps compare a promotion's tasks with its reward conditions.

What the October 16 announcement changes

The new announcement opens a specific ACU trading competition on Binance Alpha and Binance Wallet (Keyless). It says users who are eligible to trade Binance Alpha tokens may participate. It also requires an active Binance account and warns that product availability differs by region. An announcement that is publicly readable does not establish that your own account can access Alpha or this event.

The first practical distinction is between ordinary trading history and eligible competition history. The event requires the user to click Join on its page in the Binance app. Only volume generated after successful joining is counted. A purchase made before that action can still expose you to ACU's price, while contributing nothing to this competition. Do not assume a later enrollment will backdate the purchase.

Next, check the route. The notice names Binance Wallet (Keyless) and Binance Alpha and explicitly excludes third-party dApp transactions. Finding the same ticker elsewhere does not make that trade eligible. The campaign also excludes token bridges, which move assets across networks rather than create the counted purchase described by the rules.

The figures to check before placing an order

ItemPublished ruleMeaning for the reader
Promotion windowOctober 16, 13:00 UTC to October 23, 13:00 UTC, 2026Check the event clock before any purchase
Reward pool1,112,000 ACUThe pool is denominated in tokens
Winning placesTop 2,000 qualifying usersParticipation alone is insufficient
Allocation per winner556 ACUThe dollar value changes with the token price
Counted activityCumulative eligible purchases after JoinSales do not add competition volume
Participant volume limitNo overall trading-volume capThis is different from the Rising Trader boost cap
Rewards availableBefore November 13, 2026, 13:00 UTCAvailability is not automatic receipt
Claim periodWithin 14 days after rewards become claimableUnclaimed rewards are forfeited

The allocation is internally consistent: 1,112,000 divided by 2,000 equals 556. This arithmetic checks the token distribution; it does not establish a current ACU price or an expected profit. The announcement does not publish the eventual winning threshold, and other participants can change the ranking before the competition ends.

Early Bird weights use the event's UTC days

Binance applies an Early Bird multiplier to eligible actual volume. These are ranking weights. A 3.0x weight does not triple your token balance, reimburse a purchase, or create three times the financial return.

Article table: scroll horizontally, or focus the table area and use the arrow keys.

UTC interval, each beginning and ending at 13:00Early Bird multiplier
October 16 to October 173.0x
October 17 to October 183.0x
October 18 to October 192.5x
October 19 to October 202.0x
October 20 to October 211.8x
October 21 to October 221.3x
October 22 to October 231.0x

The total is the sum of daily effective volume during the promotion. Use the published UTC intervals rather than assuming a trading day changes at local midnight. If you are reading the Chinese edition, 13:00 UTC corresponds to 21:00 in UTC+8; the order's actual execution time still determines which event interval applies.

Earlier weighting does not remove the need to inspect the order preview. The campaign's own terms identify slippage and blockchain fees as potential costs. Compare what you would spend and the exposure you would hold with the uncertain ranking outcome. Avoid adding transactions solely because a multiplier makes the score look larger.

Rising Trader status and the additive formula

The second mechanism is the Rising Trader boost. The announcement defines a Rising Trader as someone who had won rewards in fewer than three previous Binance Wallet Alpha trading competitions at the qualification snapshot. That snapshot is taken three days before the promotion starts. Creating a new-looking wallet interface or having little recent activity is not the stated qualification test.

For eligible Rising Traders, a 1.2x component applies to actual volume up to a remaining boost cap. The announcement's combined formula adds that component to the Early Bird component:

Effective volume = actual eligible volume × Early Bird multiplier + min(actual eligible volume, remaining Rising Trader cap) × 1.2.

This is an additive formula. Multiplying the whole amount by both multipliers would produce a different result. The remaining cap also matters because once it is consumed, later purchases no longer receive that additional component even though ordinary eligible purchase volume can continue to count.

Binance illustrates the calculation with 10,000 USDT of actual volume on the first day and an example Rising Trader cap of 5,000 USDT. The Early Bird component is 30,000; the additional component is 6,000; the effective score is therefore 36,000 USDT. These are the announcement's example inputs, not a recommended budget and not confirmation that every participant's actual cap is 5,000 USDT. Check the event's current account-specific information for your applicable cap.

A practical sequence for checking participation

First, open the official event through the current Binance app and read the terms available to your account. Confirm that the event is the ACU competition and that the account can trade the relevant Alpha asset. If access is unavailable, do not treat another country's screenshot as an eligibility decision.

Second, inspect the account's competition history and any displayed Rising Trader qualification or cap. Keep that separate from the ordinary purchase score. You can understand the base rules without assuming that an extra boost applies to you.

Third, if you choose to participate after evaluating the exposure, complete Join before generating eligible volume. Retain the enrollment confirmation and the execution records together. They answer different questions: whether the account joined in time, and which purchases actually executed afterward.

Fourth, follow the notice's app and wallet requirements. It asks users to update the app and ensure the Keyless Wallet is created and backed up. Binance's linked wallet help explains that the MPC wallet uses three key shares in different locations and needs at least two for access. Review recovery arrangements before moving funds; a campaign deadline is a poor reason to skip wallet backup. Never send recovery material to someone claiming to calculate a ranking.

Finally, after the competition closes, check the final qualification and claim status on the event page. Eligible users can view and claim ACU through Binance Alpha or Keyless Wallet. Schedule your check against the actual moment rewards become claimable, because the 14-day window runs from that point. The published November availability deadline is not a substitute for the personal claim window. The terms also say tokens will not be distributed to users who delete or deactivate their Binance Wallets or Binance accounts.

Four activities that should not inflate your score

Selling ACU is excluded from the purchase-volume measure. A buy followed by a sale should not be read as two counted sides merely because both transactions appear in a wallet history. It can also incur costs on both actions.

A bridge is excluded even when it changes where ACU is held. Similarly, a third-party dApp swap can create genuine economic exposure without being accepted by the campaign. Alpha-to-Alpha pair volume is excluded as well. The announcement states that the exclusion from Alpha Points and trading competitions has applied since June 17, 2025 at 00:00 UTC; do not confuse it with a new permission granted by this ACU event.

Before acting, compare the route, asset and transaction type against the current terms and use the Binance research profile for the wider account decision. This competition changes a token-specific incentive, while your custody, recovery and trading-cost checks still need to make sense without a prize.

Frequently asked questions

Does everyone receive part of the $100,000 headline amount?

No. The published allocation is 556 ACU for each of the top 2,000 qualifying users. The announcement's dollar headline does not turn the token reward into guaranteed cash.

Is selling included in the leaderboard calculation?

No. The rules count cumulative eligible purchases and exclude sales. Bridges, third-party dApp transactions and Alpha-to-Alpha pairs are also excluded.

Can I join after purchasing and count the earlier trade?

The notice says only volume generated after successfully clicking Join is valid for the competition. Do not assume enrollment works retrospectively.

Is the Rising Trader cap always 5,000 USDT?

The source uses that amount in its worked example. It does not establish the actual cap for every account. Verify your current event information instead of treating an example as a personal entitlement.

What remains unknown until the event progresses?

We have not verified your account or regional eligibility, personal boost cap, final ranking threshold, execution costs or eventual payment. The official notice and linked wallet guide were checked on October 17, 2026; changes and personal claim status must be checked in the live event.
