Coinbase STABLE-USD Listing: 00:47 SGT Snapshot Shows Cancel-Only

7 min

The short answer

Coinbase plans STABLE-USD spot trading, PANews and Odaily reported on October 27. At 00:47 SGT on October 28, a saved Coinbase Exchange product response showed cancel_only: true; check current order permissions in your account before preparing a trade.

The immediate check is the STABLE-USD market in your own account. Look for the order permissions shown there before preparing a trade or moving tokens. PANews says opening depends on liquidity and supported regions; it gives no exact opening time. Odaily also attaches liquidity and trading-support conditions to its report. PANews, Odaily

The product snapshot adds a narrower, directly observable fact: Coinbase's public exchange data contains a STABLE-USD product record. Its status fields need to be read together. The same response that says status: online also says cancel_only: true. Treating the word “online” as a complete description of trading access would leave out that restriction.

What the listing reports actually say

PANews attributes its report to Coinbase Assets and says STABLE will be supported through Coinbase's website, app and Coinbase Advanced, with Coinbase Exchange serving institutional users. It also reports that Coinbase previously added STABLE to its listing roadmap. Those statements describe the reported listing plan and intended access points. They do not give a confirmed start time for unrestricted order entry. PANews

Odaily published its notice at 23:51 SGT on October 27. Its wording says STABLE-USD would begin opening later that day if liquidity conditions were met and trading was supported. Because that is conditional language, the phrase “later that day” should not be turned into a scheduled opening hour. It also should not be carried forward as a promise after midnight. Odaily

Both reports point back to Coinbase's announcement. They are two readable accounts of the reported plan, but their shared origin limits how much independent confirmation they provide. The exchange product record supplies separate evidence for the existence and configuration of STABLE-USD at the snapshot time. It does not settle every detail in the reports, including regional eligibility or the full rollout across interfaces.

For someone following the listing, the useful distinction is between the reported intention to open trading and the settings actually returned for the product. Keep those observations in chronological order. A conditional announcement can remain accurate while a product record still carries an order restriction.

The 00:47 SGT snapshot, field by field

The public product response names STABLE as the base currency and USD as the quote currency. The record's identifier is STABLE-USD; its display name is STABLE/USD. Use the full pair when checking the market, rather than searching only for the word Stable.

The response also returns post_only: false, limit_only: false and auction_mode: false. Those values do not cancel out cancel_only: true. Read them as separate settings in a single response. In particular, a false value for “trading disabled” is insufficient evidence that a new buy or sell order can be entered while the cancel-only setting is true.

The numeric fields describe product configuration. They are not a traded price, a spread or a measure of available depth. The value 0.00001 appears under quote increment; it should not be presented as STABLE's price. Likewise, the minimum-market-funds field is not evidence that a reader has funded an account or qualifies to trade the product.

If your order form shows a different setting later, record the time of that observation. A later account screen and this 00:47 SGT snapshot would describe different moments. A status change needs a fresh check before it becomes the basis of a trading decision.

Before sending STABLE to Coinbase

A holder considering a transfer has a different first question from a reader who only wants to watch the listing. Open the asset's receiving screen in the intended account and verify whether a deposit route is offered. Match the token and the displayed network against the asset you already hold before obtaining a receiving address.

The listing reports and the product response used here do not establish the supported deposit network, a contract address, confirmation requirements or a crediting timetable. Those are material gaps for a transfer. Leave the transfer unprepared until the account supplies the necessary details; a spot-pair identifier cannot supply them.

Keep a distinction between seeing a product in public exchange data and receiving a deposit address in your account. The product record supports the first observation. For the second, inspect the actual receiving screen and its instructions. Do not substitute an address copied from a news post or another holder's screenshot.

If you already have tokens elsewhere, compare the destination instructions with the sending screen before confirming anything. If the network wording differs, resolve that difference through the account's current instructions. The sources opened for this report do not justify naming a network or telling readers that a particular route is ready.

What this means for you before a STABLE-USD order

  1. Open the exact STABLE-USD market in your account and read its current status message.
  2. Check whether the screen permits the new buy or sell order you intend to submit.

If it shows a restriction, preserve the message and wait for the account to offer the action you intend to take. Repeatedly changing the order type does not answer whether the product's restriction has changed.

For an account that later permits a fresh order, inspect the displayed price, quantity and total together before submitting. Compare the quantity and price precision against the current form. The public snapshot gives useful configuration fields, but the acceptance or rejection of an order belongs to the account interaction at that time.

A reader who wants to sell an existing holding should also check the available balance shown for the pair. A reported listing says nothing about whether that reader's tokens have reached the account. Confirm the credited amount separately from the market status, then inspect any proposed order before sending it.

For a planned purchase, use the quote currency shown on the order screen. The product inspected here is STABLE-USD. Do not silently substitute a differently named market, a different quote asset or a similarly named token. Review the full identifier before comparing screens or deciding that a separate venue displays the same instrument.

Account eligibility deserves its own check. PANews explicitly refers to regions where trading is supported. Neither media report provides a country-by-country eligibility list. Seeing the public product record therefore does not answer whether your account can use the market. Read the availability shown after selecting the product in the account you actually intend to trade with.

What remains unconfirmed

The opened material does not establish an exact unrestricted trading start time, an opening price, a completed first trade or the depth available to a particular order size. It also does not verify deposits, withdrawals or market access in a named country. These gaps affect different actions; a missing network matters to a transfer, while missing order permissions matter to a proposed trade.

No price reaction is measured in this report. The quote increment, minimum funds and other numeric configuration fields are insufficient to calculate a return or describe market demand. A claim about price movement would need a price observation with its own timestamp and comparison period.

There is also no basis here for saying the listing expands STABLE access on another exchange. A Coinbase announcement and a Coinbase Exchange response concern Coinbase. Readers comparing venues can use the Coinbase profile to organize that separate research and the Coinbase profile for the site's venue background.

The next useful update would identify a change in order permissions, a confirmed opening time or additional account instructions. Check that the update names STABLE-USD and gives a time. A new copy of the same announcement would add little to the decision of whether to place an order now.

Quick answers

Has Coinbase announced a STABLE spot listing?

PANews and Odaily report the listing plan and name STABLE-USD. Both describe conditions around the start of trading. PANews says the exact opening time had not been announced in its report.

Does the product response prove I can buy STABLE now?

The 00:47 SGT snapshot contains the pair, but it also returns cancel_only: true. Inspect current order permissions in your account before treating the market as available for a fresh purchase.

Is 0.00001 the price of STABLE?

It is the quote-increment value in this product response. This snapshot does not provide evidence of an executed trade at that price.

Which deposit network should I select?

The sources used here do not establish a deposit network. Open the receiving instructions for STABLE in your account, then compare them with the sending network before preparing a transfer.

What should I watch after this notice?

Watch for a dated change in the STABLE-USD market's order permissions and any account-specific receiving instructions. Keep the time of each check alongside the result so an earlier restricted state is not confused with a later one.
