Bybit KYC Level 1 vs Level 2 in 2026: Documents, Withdrawal Limits and What Each Level Unlocks

8 min

The short answer

On Bybit, "KYC Level 1" is the Standard individual verification (an ID document plus a face scan) and "KYC Level 2" is the Advanced level, which adds a proof of address dated within the last three months. Standard lifts a non-VIP account's crypto withdrawal limit from 20,000 USDT a day and 100,000 USDT a month to 1 million USDT a day with no monthly cap, Advanced doubles that to 2 million USDT a day, and a third Pro level adds Enhanced Due Diligence on your income. Level 2 matters more in October 2026 than it used to, because Bybit's new US stocks service and the Bybit Card both require it.

How Bybit names its levels today

Bybit's help centre no longer uses the "Lv.1 / Lv.2" labels that most guides still copy. Its own article on completing identity verification splits individual KYC into three levels: Standard, Advanced and Pro. Standard is made of an identity assessment and a proof of identity (POI). Advanced adds a proof of address (POA). Pro adds Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), a questionnaire with supporting documents for your proof of income. Bybit's own Stocks guide, published with the 12 October 2026 launch, still says "KYC Level 2", which is the Advanced level.

So when someone asks for "Bybit KYC level 2", the practical answer is: finish Standard, then upload one proof of address that matches your name. You can see how Bybit's fees and products compare with other venues on our Bybit exchange profile.

What you can do without KYC, with Level 1 and with Level 2

Bybit's table of KYC benefits is stricter than many people expect. An unverified account cannot make a crypto deposit, a fiat deposit, spot trades, margin trades, perpetual or options trades, use trading bots, P2P, Convert, copy trading or Earn products. Bybit's KYC FAQ is blunt about it: at least Standard verification is mandatory for all Bybit products and services. What an unverified account keeps is the ability to withdraw, within 20,000 USDT a day and 100,000 USDT a month, so funds that were already on the account are not trapped.

Standard (Level 1) opens almost everything: crypto and fiat deposits, card and third-party payments in Buy Crypto, P2P and P2P block trades, Convert, spot, margin, bots, perpetual and expiry contracts, options, copy trading, Launchpad and Launchpool, pre-market trading, crypto loans, Earn products, TradFi perpetuals and CFDs, and reward claims in the Rewards Hub.

Advanced (Level 2) is needed for a short list that matters to some readers:

  • Bybit Stocks. The guide to buying US shares says identity verification to at least Level 2 is required, along with a supported country of residence and a Unified Trading Account. Our step-by-step guide to buying US stocks with USDC on Bybit covers the rest of that setup, and the Bybit Stocks campaign page tracks the launch offer.
  • Bybit Card. In Bybit's benefits table the card is the one product marked available only to Advanced/Pro individuals.
  • Large Buy Crypto purchases. Bybit notes that Buy Crypto transactions above a certain limit may require Advanced verification.
  • Higher withdrawals for non-VIP accounts, from 1 million to 2 million USDT a day.

Fiat deposits and withdrawals in Bybit's table carry a note that only BRL and ARS are supported in that row, so do not read it as a promise that your local currency works.

How to complete Level 1 (Standard)

1. Click the profile icon on the top navigation bar, then Account, and press Verify Now under Identity Verification. In the app the same entry sits in your account page. 2. Select your current country of residence. Bybit warns that this choice shapes the rest of the flow and that changing it later needs extra verification. 3. Under Proof of Identity, pick the country that issued your document and the document type, then photograph it. Bybit accepts a passport, identity card, residence permit or driving licence issued by your country of origin, showing photo, name, date of birth, document number and date of issue. It does not accept a domestic passport, student, work or travel visas, e-copies or scans: only the physical document. 4. Complete the face scan with your laptop camera, or scan the QR code and finish on your phone. If the face step will not open after several tries, Bybit suggests waiting 30 minutes, since too many attempts in a short time can block it. 5. The identity assessment normally completes automatically right after the POI. Some users get an Identity Assessment Questionnaire instead; anyone who does not pass it cannot complete Standard.

Bybit says verification generally takes about 15 minutes and can take up to 48 hours. If it runs past 48 hours, submit a case; the team replies within one working day.

How to complete Level 2 (Advanced)

Proof of address can only be submitted once Standard is approved. Open the Identity Verification page and start the Proof of Address step. Bybit accepts:

  • an identity document that shows your full name and full residential address,
  • utility bills, internet, cable TV or landline bills,
  • official bank statements or a bank reference letter,
  • tax returns, council tax bills, or a government residence certificate,
  • a tenancy or lease agreement running more than six months.

Apart from the identity document, the POA must be dated within the last three months. Bybit rejects mobile phone statements, insurance documents, medical bills, bank transaction slips, handwritten receipts, border passes and domestic passports. You must use the same name for Standard and Advanced. You can check what you submitted from the Identity Verification page by clicking the eye icon, which asks for your Google Authenticator code.

Level 3 (Pro): Enhanced Due Diligence

Pro means filling in the EDD questionnaire and uploading supporting documents for your proof of income. Bybit adds that even after EDD you may, in rare cases, be asked for more documents when withdrawing or making fiat transactions.

VIP withdrawal limits after verification

The KYC FAQ lists higher daily limits for VIP accounts, the same for Standard and Advanced from VIP 1 upwards:

Article table: scroll horizontally, or focus the table area and use the arrow keys.

TierDaily withdrawal limit
Non-VIP1M USDT (Standard) / 2M USDT (Advanced or Pro)
VIP 1 to VIP 38M USDT
VIP 416M USDT
VIP 524M USDT
Supreme VIP and PRO 126M USDT
PRO 230M USDT
PRO 335M USDT
PRO 440M USDT
PRO 550M USDT
PRO 660M USDT

There is a catch: Bybit sets VIP accounts' limit by default at 1 million USDT for Standard and 2 million USDT for Advanced in Account & Security, and you have to raise it manually to use the higher VIP figure.

Rules that trip people up

  • One verified account per person. Bybit only lets each person complete KYC on one account; moving it to another account goes through a transfer process.
  • No KYC on sub-accounts. Only main accounts can be verified.
  • Nationality, not residence, decides restrictions. Bybit's FAQ says country restrictions are based on the trader's nationality, not where they live.
  • Name fixes. Wrong, missing or out-of-order characters can be corrected with Update info; it usually takes about five minutes, can take up to a working day, and can be repeated only 30 days after the last successful change.
  • Common rejections: another verified account already uses the same ID, the face is not centred, glare or a cropped photo, a screenshot or scan instead of the original, being under 18 or holding a nationality Bybit does not serve.

How to act on this

If your goal is to trade crypto, Standard is enough and takes about 15 minutes. If you want Bybit Stocks, the card, or more than 1 million USDT a day out, add a proof of address now so it is approved before you need it, then follow the Bybit Stocks setup. New accounts can sign up with Bybit invite code 48553 on the registration page. If you are still choosing a venue, compare Bybit's levels with the OKX KYC levels and the Bybit vs Binance comparison, and see the full fee picture on the Bybit profile.

What we could not verify

Bybit's help pages do not publish the exact Buy Crypto amount above which Advanced is required, or the list of countries where Stocks is offered. Regional Bybit entities, such as Bybit EU, Bybit TR and Bybit Kazakhstan, run their own help centres, and their levels and limits can differ from the global pages used here.
