ETH crosses 2,400 USDT; later OKX spot check returns 2,424.23

6 min

The short answer

Ether crossed 2,400 USDT on OKX on 4 November, according to an Odaily report published at 23:02 SGT. The report put ETH at 2,402.22 USDT with a 24-hour gain of 5%. Our separate check of OKX's ETH-USDT spot ticker at 02:48:06 SGT on 5 November returned a last price of 2,424.23 USDT. For a reader with an existing order, the useful next step is to compare that order's price and market with the current trading screen. Odaily's report.

The later observation confirms that the quoted spot pair was still above 2,400 at that particular time. It does not reconstruct every trade between the report and our check. Neither observation establishes why ETH rose, how long the move will last, or whether an order at the reported price would fill now.

The later snapshot has a different comparison window

OKX's public response identifies the instrument as ETH-USDT and the instrument type as SPOT. It returned a last price of 2,424.23, a 24-hour opening price of 2,295, a 24-hour high of 2,450.79 and a 24-hour low of 2,226.55. These figures belong to the same response, whose timestamp converts to 02:48:06 SGT on 5 November.

Using the later response alone, the calculation is (2,424.23 ÷ 2,295 − 1) × 100, or approximately 5.63%. That is our arithmetic on the API's last and open24h fields. It is a later rolling comparison, rather than an independent reproduction of Odaily's earlier 5% figure. The two percentages therefore need not match.

The difference between the two quoted last prices is 22.01 USDT. Relative to Odaily's reported 2,402.22, that is about 0.92%. This compares two observations. It supplies no information about the path between them, and it should not be presented as the return from a transaction we observed or executed.

The source for the later figures is OKX's public ETH-USDT spot ticker, captured for this article. Readers checking the venue can use our OKX profile for navigation and then inspect the actual pair in their trading interface. The observation here concerns this specific spot pair; it does not establish the price or terms of any ETH derivative.

A high and a low do not establish the order of events

The same snapshot's 24-hour high of 2,450.79 was 26.56 USDT above its last price of 2,424.23. The low of 2,226.55 was 197.68 USDT below that last price. These differences show the distance from the returned last price to the reported range endpoints. They do not tell us when those endpoints occurred.

That distinction changes how the round-number headline should be read. From this response alone, we cannot say ETH moved straight from the low to 2,400, fell from the high and recovered, or repeatedly crossed the threshold. A ticker containing the range endpoints is insufficient evidence for any of those sequences. An account of the intraday path would need a time series with its own timestamps.

For the same reason, 2,400 is a reported threshold in this article, rather than a proven support level. Calling it support would add a separate market interpretation that these two sources do not establish. The observation is simpler: Odaily reported a crossing, and a later direct spot quote remained above the number.

Check the order you already have

  1. Open your existing order and check whether its market is OKX ETH-USDT spot. Record the order price, total amount, filled amount and remaining amount.
  2. Compare those details with the current ETH-USDT spot screen. For a completed order, check the execution record for the price actually received.

For a hypothetical purchase of 1 ETH, the difference between a price of 2,402.22 and 2,424.23 is 22.01 USDT before any other amount charged by the venue. For 0.1 ETH, the same price difference represents 2.201 USDT. These are hypothetical multiplication examples. They help translate the difference between the two observations into the size of an intended order.

An existing sell order needs the same attention to its actual details. Do not infer its status from the last price in this article. Look for the order record in the account, including any filled amount and remaining amount. If the trade has completed, the execution record is the evidence for the price received. If it has not, the relevant comparison is the current screen and the terms of the order you placed.

Keep a price check separate from a transfer check. Our ticker response concerns trading data for a spot pair. It does not report the status of an ETH deposit, a withdrawal request or an account review. Someone waiting for funds should inspect that specific transaction rather than treating a market-price report as confirmation that the transfer is complete.

What this report does not establish

The opened Odaily report provides a price and a 24-hour percentage attributed to OKX. It does not identify a cause for the rise. Our public ticker observation adds a later price and its comparison fields, but contains no explanation of the move either. We therefore do not attribute the rise to purchases by a particular group, a liquidation squeeze, a policy event or a change in Ethereum's use.

Those are different questions with different evidence requirements. A price change alone cannot establish who bought, why they bought, or whether they intend to keep their positions. A claim about liquidations would need a dated liquidation observation; a claim about funding would need the relevant contract and funding period. Neither number is supplied by the spot ticker captured here.

For related monitoring, NexuAlpha's funding board and liquidation board provide separate places to inspect those subjects. We do not attach a funding rate or a liquidation total to this ETH move because no such observation is part of this article's verified facts. The links are tools for a further check, rather than confirmation of a cause.

The immediate question for an ETH holder is therefore specific: does the current market and the state of my existing order still match what I intended? The 2,400 headline gives a reason to review that question. The account's order record gives the answer about execution.

Quick answers

Was Ether still above 2,400 USDT in the later check?

Yes. OKX's ETH-USDT spot response timestamped 02:48:06 SGT on 5 November returned 2,424.23 USDT as the last price. This is a timed observation, not a statement about every later quote.

Why is the later calculated change 5.63% rather than 5%?

Odaily reported 5% at 23:02 SGT on 4 November. Our calculation uses the last price and 24-hour opening value in a different, later response. It compares 2,424.23 with 2,295. Different observation times and comparison values prevent treating the two percentages as the same measurement.

Does the headline confirm a breakout will continue?

No continuation claim follows from the opened sources. They establish the reported crossing and a later price above the threshold. Check the actual ETH-USDT screen and your existing order details before making an order change.
