$60.22M Ethereum ETF Outflows: FETH Offsets Part of ETHA's $93.28M Exit

7 min

The short answer

U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs recorded $60.2178 million in net outflows for October 27, U.S. Eastern Time, according to SoSoValue figures published by Odaily on October 28 at 15:07 SGT. BlackRock's ETHA lost $93.2783 million, while Fidelity's FETH attracted $28.5840 million and Grayscale's Ethereum Mini Trust ETF, ticker ETH, received $4.4765 million. The fund breakdown matters to an Ether holder: the negative total included buying in other products, rather than the same direction across every named fund. Odaily's daily figures.

This is a new trading-day observation following our earlier Ethereum ETF flow report. The update centers on the October 27 total and the positive contributions from FETH and Grayscale ETH. PANews reports the same figures and also attributes them to SoSoValue. PANews' October 27 breakdown.

How the named funds add up

FETH's $28.5840 million and Grayscale ETH's $4.4765 million add to $33.0605 million. Subtracting those reported inflows from ETHA's $93.2783 million outflow produces $60.2178 million, exactly the reported net outflow for the group. The calculation uses dollars throughout: $93.2783 million minus $28.5840 million minus $4.4765 million equals $60.2178 million. Reported inputs from PANews.

Fund or groupOctober 27 reported net flow
BlackRock ETHA−$93.2783 million
Fidelity FETH+$28.5840 million
Grayscale Ethereum Mini Trust ETH+$4.4765 million
Spot Ethereum ETF group−$60.2178 million

The table follows Odaily's report. Its headline identifies ETHA as the only fund with a net outflow. The article names FETH as the largest daily recipient and Grayscale ETH as the next recipient. It does not reproduce a full row for every product, so this table preserves the named entries and the group result. Odaily's fund attribution.

The two named inflows offset approximately 35.44% of ETHA's reported exit: $33.0605 million divided by $93.2783 million, multiplied by 100. Conversely, about 64.56% remained in the group net outflow. These percentages describe the arithmetic of the published figures. They do not identify who sold ETHA or who bought the other funds. The reports provide product-level amounts, without the identities or motives of the investors behind them.

For someone recording daily flows, retain the individual rows beside the headline total. A note containing only “Ethereum ETF outflow” loses the difference between ETHA's negative figure and FETH's positive figure. A useful entry would read: October 27, U.S. Eastern Time; group −$60.2178 million; ETHA −$93.2783 million; FETH +$28.5840 million; Grayscale ETH +$4.4765 million. Keep the source URL with that entry so a later correction can be checked against the original observation.

Keep the dollar units when moving between languages

Odaily expresses the group outflow as 6,021.78 ten-thousand dollars, while PANews writes $60.2178 million. Multiplying 6,021.78 by 10,000 gives $60,217,800; multiplying 60.2178 by one million gives the same amount. The headline rounds that to $60.22 million. Preserve the unrounded observation in a spreadsheet so the rounding does not look like a disagreement between the two reports. PANews' dollar presentation.

When copying the table, put the currency in the column heading and the direction beside the amount. Keep the negative sign on ETHA and the positive signs on FETH and Grayscale ETH. If a charting tool expects raw dollars, enter the expanded dollar amount rather than a number labeled in millions. Then check the group total against the original report before using the chart for another comparison. This suggested check helps preserve the meaning of the figures when they move between a headline, a table and a personal record.

Today's flow and historical inflows answer different questions

Alongside the daily figures, the reports put ETHA's cumulative historical net inflows at $12.063 billion. FETH's cumulative figure stood at $2.405 billion, while Grayscale ETH's stood at $2.033 billion. The group cumulative net inflow was $12.570 billion. These are the historical values reported with this update, rather than additional money entering on October 27. PANews' cumulative figures.

ETHA can therefore show a negative daily observation alongside a positive cumulative figure. The two statements refer to different periods. In a trading journal, label a column “daily net flow” and another “cumulative historical net flow” before copying the amounts. Putting $93.2783 million beside $12.063 billion without those labels makes the comparison harder to read and invites a mistaken claim that a daily withdrawal erased the historical total.

There is another arithmetic check worth preserving. The three named cumulative figures add to $16.501 billion: $12.063 billion plus $2.405 billion plus $2.033 billion. That sum exceeds the reported group cumulative figure of $12.570 billion by $3.931 billion. The short reports do not provide the complete historical breakdown explaining the difference. Do not assign that residual to a particular unnamed fund or create a historical flow row from the subtraction. Odaily's published cumulative amounts.

The practical distinction is between checking an equation and explaining its cause. The daily named amounts reconcile to the published daily total. The cumulative named amounts are only a subset of the group history supplied in the report. A reader can verify both calculations while leaving the missing historical attribution open. Neither calculation establishes whether a particular institution has changed its longer-term view on Ether.

The $14.184 billion asset figure is a separate snapshot

The reports put total net assets for the spot Ethereum ETF group at $14.184 billion at publication. They also give a net asset ratio of 4.95%, described as the ETF market value relative to Ethereum's total market value. Keep that ratio attached to its definition. Calling it the share of all Ether buyers, exchange accounts or trading activity would change the measure. Odaily's asset snapshot and ratio.

The $14.184 billion asset snapshot and $12.570 billion cumulative net flow are also different reported measures. Their arithmetic difference is $1.614 billion. The reports do not break down the components of that difference, so it cannot be labeled an investment return, a profit or a price gain on the evidence here. Record each number under its own heading rather than trying to reconcile the gap with an invented explanation.

For scale, dividing the daily $60.2178 million net outflow by reported net assets of $14,184 million gives approximately 0.425%. This is a comparison of two figures in the update. It is not an Ether price move or a forecast of the next session. A percentage can make a dollar amount easier to compare, but the denominator needs to travel with it whenever the calculation is reused.

Read the date before changing an ETH order

The flow observation covers October 27 in U.S. Eastern Time. Odaily published it on October 28 at 15:07 SGT. Those dates describe the trading session and the publication time respectively. A reader seeing the article during the Singapore afternoon should keep October 27 on the flow entry instead of relabeling it as October 28 buying or selling. Odaily's session date and publication stamp.

For an existing ETH position, we suggest these checks before changing an order:

  1. Record the ETF session as October 27, U.S. Eastern Time. Open the instrument you hold and confirm its ticker, order type and quantity against the order you intend to edit. Keep the publication timestamp beside the session date so the two are not confused.
  2. If you hold a perpetual contract, review the displayed funding information and your account's margin details separately. Keep those readings with their own timestamps when deciding whether to change the order; the ETF total supplies the fund observation rather than those account fields.

The rates page and funding-rates page are places to begin those separate checks. Compare the timestamp and instrument label on any displayed observation before using it alongside the ETF figures. Record the ETH price and funding observation separately from the completed ETF session. Use the actual timestamp for each record rather than applying the ETF date to every field.

A suggested next step for a reader considering a new trade is to write the proposed reason for the order in one sentence. If the reason is simply that all Ethereum funds were losing money that day, revisit the FETH and Grayscale ETH rows. If the reason depends on an ETH price decline, obtain a price observation for the intended time window before proceeding. The fund report establishes the flows; the reader still needs the evidence that actually supports the intended order.

What the reports leave unresolved

Odaily and PANews both name SoSoValue as their underlying source. Agreement between the two publications checks the reported transcription, while the data origin remains shared. The reports do not supply separate issuer measurements, a full product-level table or investor identities. The fund amounts therefore describe a reported daily observation; the investors behind those amounts remain unidentified. PANews' stated data source.

They also do not establish a reason for ETHA's withdrawal or a causal connection between the daily net flow and a particular Ether price change. Describing an investor rotation from ETHA into FETH would require evidence that connects the transactions. The matching daily amounts do not provide that connection. Treat the offset calculation as a group-level sum and retain the attribution to SoSoValue.

For the next flow update, compare the same fields with the same units: group net flow, ETHA, FETH and Grayscale ETH. Check whether a fresh report supplies a complete table before assigning any change to funds omitted from this short account. Keep the new session in a separate row, so a later observation adds information rather than overwriting the October 27 record.
