GM gains over 1,180% in PANews report: read the window before the trade
The short answer
GREEN MORNING (GM), a BSC meme coin, gained more than 1,180% over 24 hours in a November 6 PANews report citing The Crypto App. The report put its price at $0.0071, market capitalization near $7.13 million and 24-hour trading volume near $14.51 million. Those figures describe the report's market snapshot; a reader considering an order needs the exact token, measurement window and executable quote before treating the percentage as relevant to a trade. PANews reported the snapshot at 17:30 SGT.
The news followed a meme exchange involving Elon Musk and Binance founder CZ, with He Yi subsequently participating, according to PANews. The different reporting windows require separate comparisons.

What the afternoon reports actually measured
The headlines arrived with different percentages. At 15:35 SGT, Odaily reported a short-term increase exceeding 400%, market capitalization of $2.72 million and 24-hour trading volume of $1.6 million. Its wording suggested that Musk's use of a CZ meme might have influenced the move. That is the outlet's proposed explanation, rather than a measured attribution of purchases to a particular post. Read the earlier Odaily report.
At 16:14 SGT, another Odaily report cited GMGN for market capitalization above $3 million and an intraday gain exceeding 259%. The later publication time does not make its percentage directly comparable with the earlier short-term figure. Intraday and short-term measurements can use different starting points, and the reports do not provide a common starting-price series. Odaily's second report identifies the intraday window.
PANews then published the 24-hour figures at 17:30 SGT. Separately, ChainCatcher reported at 17:32 SGT that GMGN showed a 240% increase over one hour and market capitalization of $8.25 million. ChainCatcher and the second Odaily item both attribute their measurements to GMGN; they do not represent two independently calculated GMGN datasets. ChainCatcher names its one-hour window and data provider.
These reports establish that several outlets covered the same token and social episode. Their figures remain attached to their individual providers and windows. We cannot turn the four snapshots into a continuous price chart, calculate a verified return between them or describe a change in capitalization as money that entered the market. The reports do not supply the observations needed for those calculations.
For a trader reopening an old headline, the practical step is to record the provider and its measurement time beside the percentage. A fresh quote can then answer a separate question: what price is available for the intended order now? Keeping those records separate avoids treating a reported afternoon snapshot as an offer to execute.
What a gain above 1,180% tells you
A percentage gain measures a change from a reference value. Using exactly 1,180% as an arithmetic illustration, the ending value would equal the starting value multiplied by 12.8: 1 + 1,180 ÷ 100 = 12.8. PANews says the gain exceeded 1,180%, so the illustration explains the scale without claiming an exact starting price.
The holder's entry point still determines that holder's result. Someone buying after the quoted increase cannot count the earlier increase as a return earned on the new purchase. To calculate a personal result, use the actual acquired quantity and execution price from the account record, then compare them with an executable sale quote for that quantity. The headline contains none of those personal inputs.
The distinction becomes useful when comparing today's reports. A 24-hour increase above 1,180% and an intraday increase above 259% can appear in coverage of the same event without the smaller number proving a subsequent decline. The comparison needs the same start and end times, the same token and a consistent price source. Here, the reports use different window descriptions.

Readers should also preserve the words “more than” and “about” when copying the figures. PANews reports a gain above a threshold and approximate capitalization and volume. Those are the levels of precision available from the source. Writing an exact reconstructed opening price would add precision the report does not support.
Reading $14.51 million of volume beside $7.13 million of capitalization
The two dollar figures answer different questions. PANews reports approximately $14.51 million of trading volume during a 24-hour window and approximately $7.13 million of market capitalization in its snapshot. Dividing the reported rounded figures gives 14.51 ÷ 7.13 ≈ 2.04. The reported window's trading volume was therefore about 2.04 times the reported capitalization.
That calculation compares the two published measures. It does not identify distinct buyers, the cash those buyers retained in the market, or the amount an individual holder could withdraw through a sale. A transaction-volume aggregate and a capitalization snapshot do not supply those answers. The source contains no breakdown that would let us reconstruct net inflows or the number of unique participants.
In particular, avoid reading $14.51 million as a pool waiting to purchase a holder's position. The figure summarizes reported trading over the stated period. An intended sale needs its own quote at the intended size. The opened reports provide no execution-depth measurement for GM, so this article assigns no amount that could be sold at the headline price.
The same restraint applies to the $8.25 million capitalization in ChainCatcher's GMGN snapshot. Its difference from PANews's $7.13 million cannot establish new money entering between the reports. The two items cite different providers and do not disclose a shared calculation record. We keep both as attributed observations and leave the missing comparison unresolved.
How much of the social story is established
PANews describes Musk using a CZ-related meme, CZ responding with another meme, and He Yi joining with a reference to the red-and-blue-pill scene in The Matrix. ChainCatcher also reports He Yi's participation. These are media accounts of the exchange.
The reports place the interaction alongside attention to GM. They do not establish which accounts bought, what motivated each transaction, or how much of the reported price change came from a specific participant's message. We therefore attribute the proposed connection to the reporting and do not assign the increase to He Yi, Musk or CZ as a proven cause.
For the reader, a person's appearance in the news is a reason to check the underlying subject carefully. None of these opened items verifies a GM listing on Binance or another centralized exchange. Nor do they establish a commercial relationship between the token and the people mentioned.
The meme-coin topic page is a place to continue reading the category's coverage. Readers checking an exchange's identity can use our Binance profile, while confirming any particular asset and product in the exchange interface itself. A profile link does not verify that GM is available there.
Checks tied to the order you are considering
Begin with identification. Record GREEN MORNING, the GM symbol and the BSC chain description used by PANews, then verify the token's exact contract in the sources and interface you intend to use. The reports do not supply a verified contract address. A purchase should not rest solely on matching the short symbol in a headline.
Next, write down the quoted price, the quote's timestamp and the quantity you intend to exchange. If an interface provides a preview, review the expected amount received and the costs shown there before confirming. Compare that information with your own order rather than inserting the PANews snapshot price into a profit calculation. Use the costs displayed for the intended transaction.
If using a centralized exchange, establish which product the screen actually offers. Check its asset identity, trading status and the terms displayed for the account. Nothing in the four reports verifies a spot pair, derivative contract, deposit route or regional eligibility. An exchange mentioned because of its founder's social activity still requires a separate product check.
For existing holdings, use the transaction record to establish quantity and acquisition cost. Review outstanding orders separately. An order entered before reading the story may have a different limit or status from the action now intended; the account record supplies that answer. The reported 24-hour gain cannot tell whether a particular order executed.
When comparing later coverage, keep the reporting window with each saved number. Update a comparison only when the token identity, provider and endpoints match. Otherwise, retain the reports as separate snapshots, as we have done here. That gives the next report a clear comparison task without assuming a direction for the price.
Quick answers
Does the headline mean a new buyer receives a 1,180% return?
The percentage describes a reported change during an earlier measurement window. A new buyer's result begins with that buyer's own execution price and quantity. PANews supplies neither a reader's entry price nor a future sale price.
Did the social exchange prove an endorsement of GM?
The opened reports describe meme interactions and the token's reported move. They do not verify a recommendation to buy GM, a listing decision or a commercial relationship. We have used the reports' accounts without turning them into endorsements.
Can the 259%, 400%, 240% and 1,180% figures be compared directly?
Their labels differ: intraday, short-term, one hour and 24 hours. A direct return comparison would need matching endpoints and a consistent price series. Those inputs are absent from the opened reports.
Is the reported trading volume available for holders to cash out?
The $14.51 million figure is PANews's reported 24-hour trading-volume aggregate. It does not measure the amount available to execute a particular sale. Check an executable quote for the intended quantity and record its time.
