KuCoin STG to ZRO Merge Completed: Where Is Your Converted Balance?
The short answer
KuCoin says it has finished converting Stargate Finance (STG) into LayerZero (ZRO) at 1 STG = 0.08634 ZRO, with the converted tokens going to the Funding Account of users who held STG before the merge. Its October 16 completion notice says ZRO deposits, withdrawals and trading remain unaffected, while STG deposits, withdrawals and trading will not resume.
The practical next step is to check the asset and account where the conversion should appear, rather than trying to reopen an old STG market or sending more STG to the exchange. Here is how to reconcile the amount, distinguish the completed exchange conversion from a wallet transfer, and identify the questions that still require account-specific support.

What changed in the October 16 notice
The earlier KuCoin announcement described a future automatic merge. The new notice changes that status to completed: KuCoin states it converted the tokens on behalf of its users and identifies the Funding Account as the destination. This is a balance-reconciliation event for an existing holder, not an invitation to submit a separate claim or register for a reward.
Keep the scope narrow. This announcement establishes what KuCoin says it did for STG holders on its platform. It does not establish that tokens in your personal wallet or at another exchange were converted by KuCoin. Nor does it establish the treatment of every staking position, external liquidity pool or historical transfer. Those situations need the relevant product's own records and instructions.
For a broader platform overview, use the KuCoin exchange profile, then return to the original merge notice when checking this particular asset change. A generic platform description cannot tell you the exact amount credited to a private account.
The service-status table holders need
Article table: scroll horizontally, or focus the table area and use the arrow keys.
| Item | What KuCoin confirms | What to check yourself |
|---|---|---|
| Conversion ratio | 1 STG becomes 0.08634 ZRO | Your eligible pre-merge STG balance |
| Destination | Converted ZRO goes to the Funding Account | Select Funding and search ZRO |
| Old STG services | Deposits, withdrawals and trading will not resume | Do not use an old STG deposit instruction |
| ZRO services | Deposits, withdrawals and trading remain unaffected by the merge | Current network, account permissions and quote |
| Conversion process | KuCoin performed the exchange conversion on users' behalf | Balance and transaction records in your account |
“Unaffected” is the notice's description of the merge's effect on ZRO services. It is not a promise that every network, jurisdiction or individual account is available without restriction at every later moment. Read the live account screen before attempting an action.
How to check the converted ZRO balance
Start by opening the official KuCoin app or website through your normal saved route. Inspect the Funding Account, then search for ZRO. Looking only at an old STG market screen or the Trading Account can send you in the wrong direction because the completion notice expressly names Funding as the receiving account.
Next, compare the balance with your own pre-merge records. An old screenshot can help identify what you held, but use the account's relevant records when reconciling a difference. Do not substitute today's STG market price, an unrelated wallet total or a futures position size for the number of STG tokens covered by the conversion.
Then inspect any available account history associated with the change. Record the displayed amount and the account involved. If you already owned ZRO before the merge, the new total can contain both the old ZRO balance and the converted allocation. Separate those components before concluding that the stated ratio was applied incorrectly.
Finally, decide what action you actually need: understand the credit, move an available balance between your own exchange accounts, trade, or withdraw. These are different operations. The completion notice confirms a conversion; it does not mean a trade or an external withdrawal has already occurred for you.
Work the ratio in token units, not dollars
The calculation implied by the published ratio is:
Expected converted ZRO = eligible STG tokens × 0.08634.
For illustration, 100 STG multiplied by 0.08634 gives 8.634 ZRO. A balance of 1,000 STG gives 86.34 ZRO. These are arithmetic examples derived from KuCoin's ratio, not statements about anyone's actual holdings or a guaranteed account credit down to a particular display precision.
The ratio compares quantities of tokens. It does not say that the dollar value of the new balance is fixed, that ZRO will trade at the old STG price, or that the exchange guarantees an investment return. To value a current balance, you need the actual credited quantity and a current relevant market quote; neither is supplied by the conversion formula alone.
The notices do not specify every rounding or display rule, nor do they settle the eligibility of a disputed balance. If your figures disagree, preserve both the quantity calculation and the source record rather than guessing a new ratio to make the totals match.
Why old STG orders and bots are a separate check
KuCoin's October 9 plan scheduled Trading Bot delisting for October 10 at 05:00 UTC, STG trading closure at 09:00 UTC, and withdrawal suspension at 10:00 UTC. Those dates are already past. They explain why a familiar STG order route or bot may no longer appear; they are not upcoming deadlines in the October 16 completion update.
The earlier notice said affected bots would be shut down automatically if users did not close them, and trade orders would be removed after trading ceased in each relevant pair. An order being removed is different from it filling. Review the relevant order and bot records to understand what happened to an intended purchase or sale before attempting to reconcile the conversion balance.
This guide concerns the announced STG token merge. Do not use the spot-token ratio as an assumed futures settlement price or as instructions for an external protocol position. The exact product matters more than a shared ticker.
Can you still deposit STG or withdraw ZRO?
For STG, the completion notice is explicit: the old token's deposit, withdrawal and trading services will not resume. A saved deposit address or an old announcement about a temporary suspension does not override that final statement. Do not send additional STG on the assumption that KuCoin will automatically convert any later transfer.
For ZRO, KuCoin says the three services remain unaffected by the merge. Before a new external transfer, follow its current deposit guide: select the asset and a compatible network, use the deposit address shown for that network, inspect any memo or tag requirement, and check the displayed minimum. A token contract identifies an asset; it is not the deposit address to paste into a withdrawal form.
KuCoin's general guide also distinguishes an internal platform transfer from an external blockchain deposit. That distinction helps explain why you should not demand a blockchain transaction hash as the only possible evidence for an exchange-managed balance conversion. Use the account record appropriate to the operation that actually occurred.
What to do if the balance does not match
Prepare a concise comparison for official support: the account section you inspected, the STG quantity your records show, the expected ZRO calculation, and the actual amount displayed. If earlier ZRO holdings or later trades affect the total, identify those separately. Keep passwords, recovery phrases and authentication codes out of the explanation.
The completion notice directs account questions to KuCoin's online chat or ticket route and project-level merge questions to the project team. Use the links reached from the official site. This article has not accessed a private account, tested a conversion or verified a particular support outcome.
Other KuCoin services can have their own independent status changes. For example, the October 17–18 SEPA maintenance guide concerns EUR payment rails, not this token merge. Check the platform profile for context, then verify the specific product notice before acting.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to claim the replacement tokens?
KuCoin describes an automatic conversion performed on users' behalf and delivery into the Funding Account. The completion notice does not require holders to connect a wallet to a separate claim website. An unsolicited claim message therefore is not evidence of an additional step in this process.
Why is the new token quantity smaller?
The published unit ratio is below one ZRO per STG. That explains the change in token count; it does not independently establish a gain or loss in market value. Compare units first and value second.
Does the announcement cover STG in a personal wallet?
It describes STG holdings on KuCoin and KuCoin's conversion. It does not provide a complete external-wallet procedure. Consult the project's original material for assets outside the exchange, without assuming an exchange credit will appear there.
What is still unknown from the public notices?
Your eligible quantity, the handling of a disputed historical transfer, display precision and your current permissions require account-specific evidence. The verified public facts are the completion statement, the ratio, the Funding Account destination and the service treatment stated above.
