Strategy falls 8.05%: what does the 99.3% STRC vote change?

7 min

The short answer

Strategy's common stock MSTR fell 8.05% to $130.23 in an October 30 US-market opening snapshot reported by PANews. Separately, Odaily relayed Bitfinex analysis saying preliminary voting results showed 99.3% support for daily payments on Strategy's STRC preferred shares. The vote report concerns STRC; it does not establish a payment entitlement for an MSTR shareholder or explain the common stock's fall. PANews reported the equity prices.

The new detail since our earlier report on Strategy's STRC dividend vote is the attributed 99.3% preliminary support figure and the reported implementation timetable. A reader holding an exchange product should first identify the complete symbol and product type before connecting that vote to a position. Odaily's October 30 report supplies the vote figure.

Five falling stocks, one labelled snapshot

PANews attributed its prices to Nasdaq quotes after the US market opened. It reported MSTR at $130.23, down 8.05%; Robinhood's HOOD at $84.32, down 7.94%; Coinbase's COIN at $148.15, down 7.75%; Circle's CRCL at $74.21, down 7.23%; and BitMine's BMNR at $20.39, down 5.86%. These are the numbers attached to that report's opening-market observation, rather than closing prices or prices available to execute a later order. The source lists all five observations together.

Odaily published the same five prices and percentage changes at 21:41 SGT on October 30, attributing them to MSX. The numerical agreement corroborates what the reports said, but we have not established two independent direct measurements of the underlying market. A table copied into two reports does not become a second trading feed simply because the publisher names differ. Odaily's stock-market dispatch identifies its attribution.

MSTR's reported decline exceeded HOOD's by 0.11 percentage points, calculated as 8.05 minus 7.94. Its difference from COIN was 0.30 percentage points. Those comparisons describe the snapshot. They do not measure the companies' relative sensitivity to Bitcoin, explain their earnings, or rank the securities as investments. No corresponding Bitcoin price series was opened for this comparison, so calling the move a quantified Bitcoin response would add evidence we do not have.

The useful implication for someone comparing screens is to preserve the measurement. Record whether a number describes an opening-session observation, a daily close or a rolling return. Keep the report's date beside it. If your trading screen shows another price, compare its instrument and timestamp before concluding that either source is wrong.

What the STRC report actually adds

Odaily's separate report was timestamped 19:41 SGT on October 30. It attributed the analysis to Bitfinex and said shareholders voted on October 28, with preliminary results showing 99.3% support. It described an expected change from twice-monthly payments to daily payments from November 1, with the first cash payment expected on November 2. Those dates remain reported expectations in this article; the opened report does not demonstrate that implementation or payment has occurred. Read the attributed STRC analysis.

For the reader, the names carry more information than the shared company. MSTR is the common-stock ticker in the price dispatch. STRC is the preferred-share ticker in the payment report. A statement about a payment schedule for the latter cannot be carried across to the former without evidence about the actual security and its rights. The sources opened for this article do not establish that an exchange derivative passes through any STRC payment.

The vote percentage also answers a narrow question: how much support the preliminary result reportedly showed. It does not tell us the return an investor will earn, the price of either security next week, or the cash available in a particular account. Reading 99.3% as a probability of an investment outcome would change the meaning of the reported number.

A holder checking the timetable should separate the vote date, the proposed start of the schedule and an actual payment record. These are different milestones. Save the applicable security notice and compare its identifier with the asset in your account. If an account later records cash, inspect the payment description before treating it as confirmation of the report's expected timetable.

The earnings timing does not identify a cause

PANews said Coinbase and Strategy released third-quarter earnings after the October 29 close. The report then described the October 30 opening decline. That sequence provides a reason to examine the earnings releases; it does not identify which result, forecast or balance-sheet item caused the quoted prices. PANews supplies the earnings timing.

We have not opened the companies' earnings filings for this article, so we do not assign a revenue miss, a Bitcoin valuation change or a financing concern to the fall. The reported moves affected all five names in the snapshot. Their presence in one dispatch is not proof that the same cause acted on every company.

The same limit applies to the STRC vote. A payment proposal and a common-stock decline can appear in the news together without one causing the other. To argue that the vote drove MSTR's move would require evidence connecting the announcement, trading times and market response. The opened reports do not supply that connection. The concrete follow-up here is the reported vote result alongside a separately attributed equity-price observation.

Before using an exchange's MSTR market

The official OKX public-instruments response opened for this run listed MSTR-USDT-SWAP with state live, contract value 1, contract-value currency MSTR, settlement currency USDT and contract type linear. Its listed order increment and minimum size were both 0.01. This identifies a specific contract record. It supplies neither a current execution price nor proof that any particular account may trade it. The OKX instrument directory contains the record.

If that instrument appears in your account, open its specification and compare the full identifier with the record. Then inspect the displayed margin settings, position size, current funding terms and the price used to assess your position. Treat these as account checks to perform. This article has not verified an individual account's permission, margin requirement, funding rate or liquidation level.

Do not substitute a near-matching symbol. The checked record is MSTR-USDT-SWAP. A search result that includes another token or a different suffix needs its own specification. Matching the company name in a headline is insufficient when the position is defined by a contract identifier.

The 0.01 minimum is a size field, not a statement that a trade costs 0.01 USDT. Likewise, the 1 MSTR contract value describes the contract record, not a claim that a derivative holder owns a registered common share. Before entering a quantity, read how the order screen expresses units and preview the resulting exposure. Confirm the calculation in the account rather than converting the news report's $130.23 into a supposed margin requirement.

Our tokenized-stock hub and MSTR page provide separate places to begin comparing named products. Use the HOOD page, COIN page and CRCL page for the other named tickers. A linked ticker page is a research path; the specific instrument and its current account permissions still require inspection.

A position check tied to this news

  • In your position screen, copy the complete instrument code and product type. Match MSTR to the stock-price report and STRC to the payment report before applying either figure.
  • Before replacing an order, check its status, quantity and limit price. If you hold MSTR-USDT-SWAP, review that contract's current quote and margin settings rather than entering the reported $130.23 stock price.

For a preferred-share payment, compare the applicable security notice with the account's actual cash record. A reported voting result cannot establish that a particular payment has reached an account.

For the next editorial update, a new comparable price observation would establish how the market changed after this snapshot. A primary issuer notice could confirm the final vote result and implementation terms. An actual payment record would address payment completion. Each would answer a different question, and none should be inferred from the 99.3% support figure alone.

Quick answers

Did MSTR fall 8.05% at the close?

The opened PANews report described the period after the US market opened on October 30. Its $130.23 and 8.05% figures belong to that observation. We have not verified a closing price here.

Does the STRC vote give MSTR holders daily cash payments?

The report names STRC preferred shares. It does not establish that payment right for MSTR common shares or MSTR-linked exchange derivatives. Match the security before applying the timetable.

Have the November payments already been completed?

The October 30 report described November 1 and November 2 as expected milestones. This article has no opened evidence that those future steps have occurred.

Does a live OKX record confirm access from Türkiye?

The public record identifies a live instrument. It does not establish Türkiye eligibility or permission for an individual account. Check the applicable account entity and the instrument's availability in that account before placing an order.
