Bitget ERAUSDT Funding Is Now Hourly: What Should Holders Check?
The short answer
Bitget announced that ERAUSDT perpetual futures would move from a four-hour funding interval to a one-hour interval at 13:00 UTC on 17 October 2026. Its notice lists funding limits of +2.0000% and −2.0000%, but those limits are not a promise that either rate will be charged: holders need to check the contract's current rate, next settlement countdown and their actual funding records.
The practical change is a more frequent settlement clock for anyone holding this particular perpetual contract. Start with the Bitget profile for the platform overview; this article explains the specific notice and the checks it raises for an existing position. It does not use the announcement to predict ERA's price.

What the October 17 announcement changes
Bitget says the adjustment is intended to bring perpetual prices closer to spot index prices. The affected instrument is ERAUSDT, and the announcement gives an explicit UTC effective time. Its schedule shows consecutive hourly entries beginning at the changeover, each with the same upper and lower limits. Official ERAUSDT notice

| Item | What the official notice establishes | What to check yourself |
|---|---|---|
| Contract | ERAUSDT perpetual futures | That you selected the same instrument |
| Previous interval | Every four hours | Whether an old reminder still uses this schedule |
| New interval | Every hour | Next settlement countdown on the contract screen |
| Changeover | 17 October 2026, 13:00 UTC | The time zone used by your interface |
| Announced limits | +2.0000% / −2.0000% | Actual rate for the settlement being considered |
The notice also allows for changes to the arrangement and asks users to review updated funding rates before ordering. Consequently, keep the announcement as the dated explanation of the change, then use the actual contract information when assessing a position today. An old screenshot is a poor substitute for the next settlement time.
Why the limit is not the bill
The largest number in the notice is easy to misread. A funding cap describes a boundary; the settled rate determines the payment. A screenshot showing the cap does not establish that holders paid that amount, and it does not establish which side paid at a particular settlement.
Bitget's funding explanation distinguishes direction from amount: positive funding transfers value from longs to shorts, while negative funding reverses that direction. The exchange describes funding as payments between position holders rather than a service charge it collects. Official funding explanation
Read the sign, interval and relevant time together. “Positive” alone does not tell you the size of a debit. “Hourly” alone does not tell you whether your position pays or receives. A complete record identifies the contract, settlement time, applied rate, position value and payment direction.
There is also a basic comparison trap. A rate quoted for a four-hour interval and a rate quoted for a one-hour interval describe different periods. Putting the percentages side by side without their intervals can conceal that difference. Any comparison should state the observation time and period before drawing a conclusion about the cost of holding.
More settlements do not prove a fixed increase in cost

Open →Moving from four-hour to hourly intervals creates more settlement occasions over the same holding window. It does not prove that the total funding bill will rise by a fixed multiple. That would require an assumption about the rate at every settlement, alongside the value and direction of the position.
The official rate page includes the funding interval in its calculation and applies minimum and maximum bounds. That is another reason to avoid taking an old interval's percentage, carrying it forward unchanged and presenting the result as a forecast. Bitget funding calculation and history page
For a holder, the useful question is narrower: which settlements will an open position cross, and what evidence is available for each? Planning around the next countdown is more useful than assuming the previous reminder still describes the contract. Afterward, use recorded settlements to assess what happened, rather than treating a prediction displayed earlier as a completed debit.
Check the contract and its records in the app
Bitget's published app instructions give a route to both real-time and historical funding information. The guide also says displayed times follow the local time zone configured in the app profile. Compare those times with the notice's explicit UTC changeover before deciding that a record is missing. Official app funding-history guide
1. Open Futures from the bottom menu. 2. Use the three-dot menu at the top right and choose Funding rate. 3. In the real-time view, select the relevant futures type and the ERAUSDT trading pair. 4. Check the contract's current rate and next settlement countdown on its trading screen. 5. Open Funding rate history, select the same futures type and pair, and compare completed entries with your records.
Keep the selected instrument visible while switching views. A historical rate for another pair cannot explain an ERAUSDT payment. Similarly, a current estimate cannot by itself resolve a disagreement about an earlier settlement. Save the relevant timestamps and entries before asking support to investigate.
Position value matters when checking a payment
Bitget gives the funding-fee calculation as position value multiplied by the applied funding rate. It also expresses position value using position size and mark price. Checking only the cash originally allocated to a position can therefore leave out the basis used in the calculation.
The same official explanation says holders pay or receive funding when they hold a position at settlement. It notes that processing can be delayed during heavy activity, and that the amount received can be limited if the paying counterparty is liquidated or lacks sufficient isolated margin. A projected receipt is therefore not the same thing as an amount already credited.
For an unexplained entry, first reconstruct the recorded position and settlement rather than assuming the displayed maximum rate was applied. If the information still does not reconcile, organize the pair, time zone, position record and funding entry for official support. Remove account secrets from any screenshots you provide.
Recheck the holding plan before the next clock tick
If you were using a four-hour reminder, update the reminder and review the position's planned holding period. Check how much exposure you actually intend to retain, the next funding direction, and whether an intended closing order has executed. Submitting an order and having no remaining position are different states.
An exit decision also has its own trade-offs. Avoid treating a last-second order as proof that settlement exposure has disappeared; check the filled quantity and remaining position. You can use the funding-rate explanation to review the general mechanism, then return to the contract-specific notice for this change.
Before making a separate account-opening decision, review the Bitget platform profile. NexuAlpha's public Bitget invitation code is nexu888; the identifier does not determine funding rates or remove the need to check the contract.
Quick answers
Does every Bitget perpetual now settle hourly?
This announcement identifies ERAUSDT. It is not evidence that every perpetual contract moved to the same interval. Check each instrument's own current information and announcements.
Will longs pay the maximum every hour?
The notice establishes limits, not every future applied rate. The rate's sign determines the payment direction, and the relevant settlement record establishes the applied amount.
Can an old funding screenshot prove today's cost?
Only if it actually identifies the relevant completed settlement and instrument. A screenshot of a prior interval, current estimate or limit cannot stand in for that record.
What remains unverified here?
We verified the announcement and official explanatory documents, but did not access a private account or confirm a live ERAUSDT rate, individual funding debit, filled exit or personal trading eligibility. Those checks belong to the reader's actual contract and account records.
