Kraken, Pro or Wallet: Which App Should You Download?

Choose the product before choosing the download

“Kraken app” can refer to different products. A result with a familiar logo may still be the wrong application for your purpose. Kraken’s official directory separates the consumer exchange application, Pro, Krak and Wallet. Decide whether you want an exchange account interface, an advanced trading interface, payments or a wallet before opening a store result.

The directory describes the consumer application as a place for purchases, cash and crypto funding, portfolio tracking and recurring investing. Pro emphasizes trading tools. These descriptions help select an interface; they do not establish that every advertised product is available to your particular account.

For example, seeing stocks or xStocks in the product description does not establish your eligibility or the legal rights of a particular instrument. Follow the official route on Android or iPhone

Use this sequence instead of choosing the first advertisement or accepting an installation file sent in a chat:

1. Open Kraken’s support site yourself and find “Kraken’s official mobile apps.” Confirm the hostname is support.kraken.com. 2. Find the section for the product selected above. Keep its name visible while choosing Android or iPhone. 3. Follow the Google Play or Apple App Store link provided in that section. A general store search can mix the exchange, Pro, Wallet and unrelated products. 4. Compare the listing name, device requirements and destination with the official directory. If the listing does not match the product you selected, return to that directory. 5. Install through the verified route, open the application and check what it asks you to do before entering any information. 6. Existing exchange customers can use their current Kraken credentials in Kraken or Pro. Creating a seed-phrase wallet is a different operation.

The official directory contains specific store destinations. At the check date, the consumer Android link identifies com.kraken.invest.app, while Wallet’s Android link identifies com.kraken.superwallet. These identifiers help distinguish two different products; neither a copied identifier nor an icon authenticates a file supplied somewhere else. Trace the link from the support page rather than using the identifier as permission to install an arbitrary APK.

On iPhone, the same product-selection rule applies. Do not install Wallet simply because the exchange application is absent from a search result. First compare the store listing reached from the official page and read any device or regional message it shows.

What to check when the app is missing or will not install

Kraken’s directory says store availability depends on the registered address of the app store account and is separate from Kraken account registration. That distinction matters when a store says a download is unavailable: opening an exchange account does not automatically change what the store can distribute to the device.

Record the exact message, the product name and whether the device meets the listing’s requirements. Then use the official support route for that issue. An installation problem, an account eligibility decision and an inability to trade a specific market need different explanations. Avoid solving all three by repeatedly downloading different applications.

If someone offers a “regional installer” after you report the problem, return to the official directory to verify whether it actually lists that route. A working download is not evidence of official provenance. Similarly, this guide does not verify third-party APK repositories or provide a workaround for an unavailable service.

Understand the Wallet boundary before recovering anything

Kraken Wallet’s FAQ says an exchange account is unnecessary for creating or importing a seed-phrase wallet. An eligible exchange account is required for connected Kraken features, such as transferring supported assets from the exchange. Those are different facts: being able to create a wallet does not prove that an exchange connection will be available.

Consider a simple mistake. You install Wallet, create a new wallet and expect your existing exchange balance to appear automatically. Creating that wallet does not itself request a withdrawal from the exchange. Before moving anything, identify which product currently holds the assets and which network and destination the intended transfer requires.

Recovery is equally specific. The FAQ describes recovery using a seed phrase or a password-encrypted cloud backup and says Kraken cannot recover a lost seed phrase or cloud-backup password. An exchange password reset is therefore not a substitute for recovering that wallet. Do not uninstall a wallet as a troubleshooting shortcut until you understand its recovery method and have checked your own backup safely.

The FAQ also says support will not ask for a seed phrase. Keep seed phrases, private keys, cloud-backup passwords and one-time codes out of messages to people offering installation help. A referral code identifies an invitation relationship; it is not a wallet recovery secret or a login verification code.

Check access before making the first transfer

After installation, finish one task at a time. First establish that you are in the intended application. Next confirm the account or wallet you opened. Only then inspect a funding or trading action and its current conditions. Do not use a successful sign-in as proof that every payment method or product is enabled.
