OKX Crypto Deposit Fees: Who Pays, Minimum Amounts and Checks Before Sending

6 min

The short answer

OKX does not charge the recipient a crypto deposit fee; the sender pays the withdrawal fee on the platform or wallet sending the assets. The receiving amount should also be above the minimum shown on the selected OKX deposit page, so compare the amount arriving after the sender's fee with that minimum before confirming a transfer. These are separate checks: a deposit can have no receiving fee and still be too small to be credited. Source: OKX, “Do I need to pay fees for deposit and withdrawal?”

The facts

The fee question has two sides. On OKX, receiving a crypto transfer does not require a deposit fee. On the sending platform, withdrawing the crypto can incur a fee. If you later send the assets out of OKX, you become the withdrawing party and the withdrawal fee applies to that transaction. A zero receiving charge therefore does not describe the cost of the entire transfer route. Source: OKX fee guide.

A deposit minimum serves a different purpose from a fee. OKX explains that very small deposits can create processing and aggregation costs. Its minimum-deposit article says funds must satisfy the platform's aggregation conditions before they can be credited. The usable threshold is the one on the deposit page for the chosen asset, rather than a number copied from a different coin. Source: OKX, “Why is there a minimum deposit amount?”

What it means for you

Start with the asset you already hold and the networks supported on both sides. OKX's web guide tells users to select the crypto and network before generating deposit details. If the token and network cannot be found on the deposit page, the guide says that combination is unsupported. A cheap sending route is useful only after the receiving route has been established. Write down the receiving amount shown by the sender, then read the OKX minimum beside the address you intend to use. Compare those two fields before sending. This is especially relevant for a small first transfer: reducing its size also reduces the margin above the minimum. The fee guide says below-minimum deposits are not credited and that recovery is supported only for certain cryptocurrencies, with an additional recovery fee. Source: OKX fee guide.

For an overview of the venue before preparing that transfer, use the OKX exchange profile. The deposit decision itself still depends on the selected network, the receiving minimum and the sender's final amount. A general venue page cannot supply a deposit address for your account. Prepare the receiving details before opening withdrawal

OKX requires identity verification to be completed before crypto deposits. On the web, its documented path starts at Assets, then Deposit. Select the crypto and deposit network. The page generates the deposit details, and the Deposit account field lets you choose Funding or Trading. Copy the receiving address into the sending platform's withdrawal field, or scan the deposit QR code using the sending wallet's scanner. Source: OKX web deposit guide.

The token contract is another field to compare when checking that identically named assets are the same token. It identifies the token; it is not your account's receiving address. OKX's Crypto Deposit 101 guide describes both fields separately. Sending assets to a token contract because it appears beside the deposit information confuses the identity of the asset with the destination of the transfer. Source: OKX Crypto Deposit 101.

For assets requiring a tag or memo, the address alone is insufficient. OKX's web guide uses XRP as an example and instructs users to enter both the deposit address and the tag or memo. Read the complete generated deposit details rather than copying only the longest string on the page. Source: OKX web deposit guide.

Check arrival separately from the fee

After sending, use deposit history to check the transfer. The web guide says a deposit typically becomes successful after the required block confirmations are complete. The deposit page also displays the required confirmation count. This gives you a more specific question than “was the transfer free?”: has this transfer reached the confirmation requirement for this asset and network? Source: OKX web deposit guide.

Crediting and permission to withdraw again can be separate stages. Crypto Deposit 101 says a credited deposit must reach the required withdrawal confirmations before it can be withdrawn or sold through C2C trading. It directs users to the deposit page's arrival and withdrawal-availability fields. If the balance appears but the next operation is unavailable, compare those fields rather than treating the visible balance as confirmation that every transfer function has cleared. How to act on this

Open the OKX account and product overview, then prepare your deposit in the account's own deposit screen. Check the receiving crypto, matching network, complete address details, minimum and expected arrival after the sending fee. Confirm the transaction only when those fields agree; after sending, use deposit history and the page's confirmation requirement to follow its progress. This order follows the receiving process documented in OKX's web deposit guide.

What we could not verify

The public guides do not establish the current sending fee, receiving minimum or confirmation count for your particular asset and network. Those values must be read from the relevant transfer screens; no fixed USDT fee or universal arrival time is stated here.

Quick answers

Does OKX charge a fee to receive crypto?

Its fee guide says no. The party withdrawing the assets pays the withdrawal charge. That sending charge remains separate from OKX's receiving fee policy.

Can a deposit be too small even when receiving is free?

Yes. The minimum on the selected deposit page is a crediting condition. The fee guide says deposits below that minimum are not credited, with recovery available only for certain cryptocurrencies and an additional recovery fee.

Where do I find the supported network?

Choose the crypto on OKX's deposit page, then examine its network selector. Crypto Deposit 101 says this selector lists the networks supported for that asset. Match the sending network to the receiving selection.

Is a token contract my deposit address?

No. Crypto Deposit 101 distinguishes the token's contract from your deposit address. Use the receiving address generated for the selected crypto and network; include a tag or memo whenever the deposit instructions require one.

Can I immediately withdraw a deposit once it appears?

Not necessarily. Crypto Deposit 101 says withdrawal requires the applicable withdrawal confirmations, which can be checked separately from deposit arrival on the deposit page.
