Can You Use bStocks as Collateral on Binance? Berkshire Hathaway (BRKBB), Vistra (VSTB) and 3 More Go Live October 21
The short answer
Yes, for eligible users. From 12:00 UTC on October 21, 2026, Binance accepts five more bStocks tokenized securities as collateral in Cross Margin, Portfolio Margin and Portfolio Margin Pro: RoboStrategy (BOTB), Berkshire Hathaway (BRKBB), the KraneShares STAR Market 50 ETF (KSTRB), the Direxion Daily 20 Year Treasury Bull 3X ETF (TMFB) and Vistra (VSTB). The same five also start trading against USDT on Binance Spot at 12:00 UTC, with zero maker fees until 23:59 UTC on October 31. Two limits matter before you use one as collateral: Binance says borrowing against them is not currently supported, and regular, VIP 1 and VIP 2 users must first complete a suitability questionnaire.

What Binance announced today
Binance published two linked notices on October 21. The first lists the five tokens as eligible collateral, effective 12:00 UTC, and says the matching bStocks pairs also become available for margin trading. The second opens spot trading for the same five tokens at the same moment, against USDT, and adds a few conveniences:
Article table: scroll horizontally, or focus the table area and use the arrow keys.
| Item | What Binance says |
|---|---|
| Spot pairs | BOTB/USDT, BRKBB/USDT, KSTRB/USDT, TMFB/USDT, VSTB/USDT from 12:00 UTC |
| Maker fees | Zero on those pairs from listing until 23:59 UTC on October 31 |
| Binance Convert | bStocks can be traded against BTC, USDT and other tokens at zero fees within one hour of the spot listing |
| Bots | Spot Algo Trading Bots start with the listing; Rebalancing Bots are enabled within 24 hours |
| Tokenizing | You can convert direct stock holdings into bStocks 1:1 with zero conversion fee, ahead of trading |
| Withdrawals | Open at 13:00 UTC, on BNB Smart Chain |
| Collateral venues | Cross Margin, Portfolio Margin, Portfolio Margin Pro only |
The token list is a mix. Berkshire Hathaway and Vistra are single companies, KSTRB is a fund tracking China's STAR Market 50 index, and TMFB is a leveraged Treasury-bond fund. A "3X" fund multiplies a day's move in the underlying index, so holding it as collateral is a different risk from holding a plain company share.
What "collateral" does and does not mean here
Collateral is an asset you pledge so your margin account can carry positions. Binance values the pledged asset at an index price, applies a collateral ratio, and uses the result to work out your margin level. That is why the wording matters: the announcement says the tokens are added "as collateral assets under Cross Margin, Portfolio Margin, and Portfolio Margin Pro only" and that "borrowing is not currently supported". In plain terms, you can post these bStocks to support margin trading, but Binance has not switched on borrowing against them yet. Check the live collateral ratios on Binance's Margin Data page, because Binance reserves the right to change them at any time.
Two eligibility conditions apply on top of the product. The feature is unavailable in restricted regions, and the bStocks themselves are offered through an approved prospectus in Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) only to eligible users in permitted jurisdictions. Binance says they are not available in the United States or to US persons. They are also not shares: the disclosure states that holders do not directly own a share in the underlying company.

Open →The change that matters more: prices now move on weekends
A separate Binance notice, dated October 20, changes how these tokens are valued as collateral. From 00:00 UTC on October 24, the bStocks collateral index price updates around the clock. During non-trading hours such as weekends, holidays and daily maintenance windows, the index references Binance's own trading prices using an order-book EWMA (a smoothed average) with a dedicated price-movement cap. When the index leaves that mode, it blends the old and new calculations gradually to avoid a sudden jump.
The practical consequence is stated by Binance itself: collateral value updates 24/7, so your margin level or uniMMR (the unified maintenance margin ratio used in Portfolio Margin) can change on a Saturday while the US stock market is closed. Binance also warns that prices can move significantly when the market reopens. Until now, a user holding stock-linked collateral could assume the valuation was effectively frozen over a weekend. After October 24 that assumption no longer holds.
How to use this without getting liquidated
- Read the risk-controls guide first. Binance links a "bStocks Margin Collateral Risk Controls Guide" from the announcement; it describes the restrictions that can apply if your account risk rises.
- Complete the suitability questionnaire if you are a regular, VIP 1 or VIP 2 user. Without it the margin features stay off.
- Size the collateral for the whole week. Leave extra margin before a Friday close, because the index can move on Saturday and Sunday even when the underlying exchange is shut.
- Do not treat a 3X fund like a stock. TMFB resets its leverage daily, so a choppy week can erode value even if the bond market ends flat.
- Watch your margin level, not only the price. A falling collateral value can push the level down while your open positions have not moved.
If you do not hold Binance yet, signing up with code 11350287 through NexuAlpha gives you a fee rebate on your trading, and the venue's profile lists current spot and futures fees. You can compare other venues' tokenized-stock offers on our tokenized stocks hub and the Binance tokenized-stocks page.
How this fits the wider bStocks rollout
This is the fifth weekly batch in a row. Binance's announcement feed shows bStocks collateral additions on September 23 (3 tokens), September 30 (7), October 7 (4), October 14 (4) and now October 21 (5), at least 23 tokens in total by our count, usually paired with a spot listing on the same day. The pace suggests Binance is building a standing pipeline of tokenized securities rather than a one-off test.
Binance also launched four new stock-linked USDT perpetual contracts earlier on October 21: CEGUSDT (Constellation Energy), BACUSDT (Bank of America), IBKRUSDT (Interactive Brokers) and MDTUSDT (Medtronic), at 09:00, 09:05, 09:10 and 09:20 UTC. Each has a 0.01 tick size and a 5 USDT minimum notional. Those are cash-settled in USDT and are separate from the bStocks tokens above; a perpetual follows the price of the underlying but you never hold the stock.
