Dell (DELL) Dividend on Binance bStocks and Bitget Stock Perps: The 20 October Snapshot, Who Gets Paid, Who Pays and What to Do Before 07:30 SGT

6 min

The short answer

Both Binance and Bitget will settle Dell Technologies' cash dividend at the same moment: 00:00 UTC on 20 October 2026, which is 08:00 on 20 October in Singapore. On Binance, anyone holding DELLB bStocks at that snapshot receives the dividend as extra DELLB, not cash, after withholding tax and fees, and DELLB deposits, withdrawals and the 1:1 stock conversion are paused from 23:30 UTC on 19 October (07:30 SGT on 20 October). On Bitget, DELLUSDT stock perpetual holders get a payment of 0.63 USD per share: longs are credited and shorts are debited through the funding fee at the 08:00 SGT settlement. If you are short and highly leveraged, check your margin or close before then.

What Binance announced for DELLB

The Binance announcement of 19 October 2026, "Binance Will Support Dell Technologies (DELL) Cash Dividend Distribution via bStocks", sets out the mechanics for DELLB holders.

  • Who is eligible: users with DELLB holdings at the record-date snapshot, 2026-10-20 00:00 UTC.
  • What you receive: the net cash dividend is reinvested, after applicable withholding taxes, fees, costs and other deductions, into additional units or fractions of the same underlying security. Eligible users therefore receive the dividend as more DELLB, not as USDT. On-chain holders of DELLB receive it through a multiplier adjustment of the token.
  • Where it lands: dividends on assets held in other accounts, for example a Savings or Margin account, are credited to the Spot Account.
  • What is paused: the 1:1 token conversion between DELL stock and DELLB, and deposits and withdrawals of DELLB, stop at 2026-10-19 23:30 UTC. Binance Convert pauses DELLB and its pairs at the same time. They resume when the distribution is completed, and Binance says no further announcement will be posted.
  • What keeps running: trading of DELLB/USDT is not affected.

Binance adds the standard description of the product. bStocks are tokenized securities issued by BTech Holdings Limited, a Binance group affiliate, offered through an approved prospectus in the Abu Dhabi Global Market only. They represent an interest in underlying securities held by the issuer, not direct ownership of the shares, and they are not offered to US persons. The announcement does not state the dividend per share, the withholding rate or the size of the multiplier adjustment, so the exact amount of extra DELLB cannot be computed in advance.

What Bitget announced for DELLUSDT perps

Bitget's notice of 17 October 2026, "Cash Dividend Settlement for DELLUSDT Stock Perps", works differently because a perpetual contract owns no share.

Shortsdebited the dividend on their position size, shown as a funding fee

Bitget also states that the amount follows the official data published on the actual ex-dividend date, and that any adjustment will be announced separately. It carries a specific warning for short holders: the dividend is taken from the short position as a funding fee, which can leave margin insufficient and trigger forced liquidation, especially at high leverage. Its recommendations are to top up margin before 08:00 SGT on 20 October or to close the short in advance.

The numbers: how big is 0.63 USD

At the time we checked (08:48 UTC on 19 October), DELLB traded at 461.36 USDT on Binance spot, up 2.64% in 24 hours, and Bitget's DELLUSDT perp showed a last price of 461.51, a mark price of 461.77, an index price of 462.00 and a funding rate of 0. Against a price near 461.5, a 0.63 dividend is 0.137% of the position's value (our arithmetic). It is small, but leverage changes what small means for a margin balance.

Article table: scroll horizontally, or focus the table area and use the arrow keys.

LeverageMargin on a 10,000 USDT shortDividend debitDebit as share of margin
5x2,000 USDTabout 13.64 USDT0.68%
10x1,000 USDTabout 13.64 USDT1.36%
20x500 USDTabout 13.64 USDT2.73%
50x200 USDTabout 13.64 USDT6.82%

The 13.64 comes from dividing 10,000 USDT by the 461.77 mark price, about 21.66 shares' worth of exposure, and multiplying by 0.63. The debit is a fixed 0.137% of notional whatever the leverage; what grows is its weight against your margin. A trader who is already within a few percent of liquidation at 20x or 50x can be pushed over the edge by this one line item, which is exactly the case Bitget describes. A long position receives the mirror image, about 13.64 USDT per 10,000 USDT of notional.

Is the dividend free money for longs and DELLB holders?

No. On the ex-dividend date a stock normally trades lower by roughly the amount of the dividend, because the buyer no longer gets it. A long perp holder who is credited 0.63 USD is therefore compensated for a price that already took that amount away; the credit keeps a long and a short position economically fair against the underlying stock, it does not add profit. The same logic applies to DELLB: the extra units compensate for the share price adjustment, and after withholding tax and fees the net is lower than the gross 0.63. Holding through the snapshot only to collect the payment does not create an edge.

What it does change is operational:

  • DELLB holders: nothing to claim and no cash to wait for. The extra DELLB arrives on its own after the distribution. If you planned to move DELLB on or off Binance, do it before 07:30 SGT on 20 October or wait until the pause ends.
  • Perp longs: you will see a positive funding-fee line around 08:00 SGT; it is not a trading gain.
  • Perp shorts: you will see a negative line of 0.63 per share. Compute it for your own size, compare it with your free margin and decide whether to top up or close before 08:00 SGT.
  • Anyone arbitraging bStock versus perp: both venues use the same instant, so the legs are paid on the same snapshot, but the bStock leg is net of tax and the perp leg is gross.

What we could not verify

The 0.63 USD per share figure is from Bitget's announcement. Binance's announcement does not repeat it, and Dell's own investor pages did not return a readable dividend table when we checked, so we treat 0.63 as Bitget's figure subject to the adjustment Bitget reserves for the actual ex-dividend date. We also could not find the withholding rate Binance applies to DELLB holders.

How to act on this

Check your positions now rather than at 07:00 on Tuesday morning. If you want to trade stock perpetuals such as DELLUSDT with a fee rebate, Bitget lists them and signing up with code nexu888 puts a rebate on your trading; see the Bitget profile. If you prefer backed tokens like DELLB, the tokenized stocks hub compares which venues offer tokens and which offer contracts, and our earlier explainer on what you own and how dividends work with bStocks versus perps covers the general rules.
