GTA 6 Dacity Coin Explained: Two Unofficial Tokens, a $15M Peak and What to Check Before You Buy
The short answer
"Dacity Coin" is a fictional brand that appears in the Grand Theft Auto 6 launch trailer, and Rockstar has not launched any real-world token under that name. The tokens you can buy today are unofficial copies created by traders: CoinGecko lists two separate "Dacity Coin" tokens, one on Solana and one on Ethereum, with different prices and different contract addresses, and neither has any confirmed tie to the game. The Solana version peaked near a $15 million market cap on 21 October 2026, so anyone buying it is betting on a rumour about how prominent the coin will be in the game, not on a product.

What actually happened
According to Decrypt, the GTA 6 launch trailer briefly shows a wing walker setting off a smoke bomb on a plane covered in "Dacity Coin" branding. Traders noticed it, and an unofficial Solana meme coin with the same name was pumped to a peak market capitalisation of about $15 million. Decrypt stresses that the token has no official connection to the game and that Rockstar has not launched a real-world coin.
The excitement rests on a leak. Decrypt reports that an apparent mission, released more than a week earlier by a hacker known as "Cyberleek", has the player character Lucia asked to parachute as a stunt to attract investment to Dacity Coin. In the leaked screenshot someone tells her: "Give them a show. They'll buy Dacity Coin before they even know what it is." The GTA wiki, cited by Decrypt, links Dacity Coin to an in-game company called AudaCity. All of this comes from a leak and a trailer frame, not from a Rockstar statement about how the coin will work.
Traders quoted by Decrypt disagree on how big the coin will be in the game. One expects a few side missions. Another thinks it could be an in-game currency or a tradeable asset, like the stock market in GTA V. The second trader called that "purely gut instinct". The game is expected in November, which is why some traders are holding the token into the release.
Two tokens, same name
The first thing to check is which "Dacity Coin" you are looking at, because there is more than one. CoinGecko data pulled on 21 October 2026 at 18:38 UTC shows:

Both tokens trade only on decentralised exchanges in CoinGecko's ticker lists, and the Solana token's price was already down about 4.4% in the last hour when we pulled the data. Its circulating and total supply are both about 982 million tokens, so the market cap and fully diluted value are the same number. Because the two tokens are unrelated to each other and to Rockstar, "the real Dacity Coin" does not exist yet. If a post tells you to "buy the official Dacity Coin", it is wrong or it is a scam.
Why this kind of token is risky
A token that trades on a single decentralised pool is easy to move. A $13 million market cap can sound large, but a buyer who spends a few thousand dollars can push the price noticeably, and a seller with a big holding can crash it. The Decrypt story itself says one trader has $285,000 of unrealised profit from a $20,000 buy on Pump.fun, and that none of this is realised and "it could sharply fall at any moment". Profit that is not realised is not yours until you sell, and a thin pool decides what price you get when you do.
Three habits matter more than the story:
- Check the contract address, not the name. Anyone can create a token called Dacity Coin. Compare the address in your wallet or swap screen with the address on the CoinGecko page above before you approve anything.
- Look at the pool size and your own order. If your buy would be a visible share of the pool's liquidity, expect slippage on the way in and a worse exit.
- Decide the amount you can lose before you buy. Meme tokens tied to an event often peak before the event. The game is expected in November, and the market is already pricing in a lot of enthusiasm.
What this means for you
If you came for the game, nothing about GTA 6 requires you to own a token. If you came for the trade, treat it like any other event-driven meme coin: small size, no leverage, and a plan for what you do if the price halves.
If you would rather watch the meme sector from a large exchange than hunt through decentralised pools, listed tokens are easier to size and exit. Bitget offers spot and perpetual markets for large meme coins such as DOGE, and you can register with code nexu888 through our Bitget page; its fee schedule is on the Bitget exchange profile. Our meme coin hub tracks the sector, and the liquidations dashboard shows how quickly leveraged meme positions get wiped out when a hyped coin reverses. Both Dacity tokens above are not listed on any centralised exchange that CoinGecko tracks, so you cannot use leverage or stop orders on them there.
Quick answers
Is Dacity Coin real? Inside the game, it appears to be a fictional brand in the trailer and in a leaked mission. In the real world, only unofficial tokens exist; Rockstar has not announced a coin.
Which Dacity Coin contract is the right one? There is no official one. CoinGecko lists a Solana token ending in "pump" and an Ethereum token starting 0x54ce4b27; both are community creations.
Will Dacity Coin go up when GTA 6 launches? Nobody knows, and we do not make price predictions. The move so far is driven by a trailer frame and a leak, so the risk is that the story is already in the price.
Can I buy it on Binance, OKX or Bitget? CoinGecko's ticker lists for both tokens only show decentralised venues as of 21 October 2026. Check the exchange's own listings before assuming a token is available.
What if someone messages me an "official Dacity Coin presale"? Treat it as a scam. Rockstar has announced no token, and presale links are a common way to steal wallet access.
How big was the peak? Decrypt reports a peak market cap of about $15 million for the Solana token; CoinGecko's all-time high price was $0.01667 on 21 October at 15:09 UTC.
