What Is Dogecoin Labs? MyDoge, DogeOS and Such App Merge Into One Company: What DOGE Holders Should Know
The short answer
Dogecoin Labs is a new company, formed with the Dogecoin Foundation and announced on 20 October 2026, that will own and run the three biggest consumer products in the Dogecoin world: the MyDoge wallet, the DogeOS app platform and the Such App merchant-payments tool. It is led by Jordan Jefferson, the founder of MyDoge and DogeOS, and its stated goal is to give DOGE more everyday uses. For holders, nothing changes today: your coins, wallets and exchange balances work exactly as before, and the most important pieces of the plan, apps on DogeOS and its security link to the Dogecoin blockchain, are still in testing.

What was announced
According to Decrypt and CoinDesk, which both reported the announcement on 21 October, Dogecoin Labs consolidates products, intellectual property and development teams that were spread across several Dogecoin groups. The Dogecoin Foundation and House of Doge, the foundation's commercial arm, are contributing assets and staff. The foundation keeps its existing role: open-source development support, advocacy and community work. Labs takes over the commercial side: building and running products.
The three products it will own work together as a chain:

| Product | What it does today | Status |
|---|---|---|
| MyDoge | Consumer wallet; V3 update connects it to DogeOS apps | Live, more than 500,000 users (company figure) |
| DogeOS | Ethereum-compatible app platform for Dogecoin apps such as lending, exchanges and games | Public testnet since 30 September 2026, with test DOGE |
| Such App | Merchant tool for invoices and in-person QR payments | Beta; link to DogeOS still being planned |
The idea is simple: developers build apps on DogeOS, holders find and use them through MyDoge, and shops accept DOGE through Such App. Jefferson told Decrypt the community has chanted "DOGE to $1" for years and that the aim is now to build the economy behind that ambition. The company says it wants to build wallets, payments, commerce, trading, DeFi, gaming, AI and social apps.
What is still missing
CoinDesk's report is more cautious than the announcement, and the details matter if you are thinking about using these products:
- DogeOS apps are not live yet. Three weeks after the testnet opened, the public DogeOS user guide still lists its featured applications as "coming soon".
- The security link is a draft. DogeOS wants the Dogecoin network itself to verify proofs that its apps ran correctly. The rule change that would allow that is still only a proposal. Until it is in place, users rely on DogeOS's chosen operators and hardware to check that apps behave correctly.
- User numbers are not activity numbers. MyDoge reports more than 500,000 users, reached without paid marketing, but the announcement does not say how many are active or have tried DogeOS apps.
- Such App is in beta. It already handles invoices and QR payments, but its connection to DogeOS is still at the planning stage.
None of this is unusual for a new platform, but it means the "everyday uses" are a plan, not a product you can use today.

The news landed during a weak stretch for the coin. Decrypt reported DOGE around $0.084 on Tuesday, up 3.9% on the day, for a market value of roughly $13 billion, but down about 14% over the past month and roughly 88% below its May 2021 record.
Our own pull of Binance public data at 16:48 UTC on 21 October shows the same picture:
Article table: scroll horizontally, or focus the table area and use the arrow keys.
| Measure (Binance DOGEUSDT) | Value |
|---|---|
| Perpetual last price | $0.08347 |
| 24-hour change | +2.76% (range $0.08093 to $0.08378) |
| 24-hour futures volume | about $266 million |
| Spot close on 21 September | $0.09986 (about 16% higher than now) |
| Lowest spot price in the last month | $0.07607 on 18 October |
| Futures open interest (21 October) | 2.75 billion DOGE, about $225 million |
| Accounts long vs short | 72.1% long, 27.9% short |
| Last funding rate | 0.0083% per 8 hours |
Two numbers stand out. Open interest on Binance rose from about 2.52 billion DOGE on 14 October to 2.75 billion on 21 October, so leverage is growing slowly while the price is flat to slightly up. And more than seven in ten accounts are long, which means the crowd is leaning one way. Funding is mild, so holding a long is not expensive, but a crowded long side is the side that gets liquidated first if the price drops.
What this means for you
If you hold DOGE on an exchange: nothing changes. Dogecoin Labs does not touch the Dogecoin blockchain, your balance or how deposits and withdrawals work.
If you use MyDoge: the wallet is the product most directly affected. Expect more app links inside it as DogeOS develops. Treat any app on a testnet as an experiment: testnet DOGE has no value, and any site or message asking you to "bridge" or "migrate" real DOGE to DogeOS before its mainnet is announced by official channels should be treated as a scam.
If you trade DOGE: news about ecosystem plans tends to move meme coins for hours, not weeks. With most Binance accounts long and open interest rising, a sudden drop can trigger a wave of forced selling. Check our liquidations dashboard before adding leverage, and keep positions small enough that a 10% move does not close them.
If you are a merchant: Such App's invoices and QR payments are available in beta. Ask what happens to a payment if the price moves between invoice and settlement before you rely on it.
How to act on this
If you want DOGE exposure without guessing which ecosystem app will launch first, spot DOGE is the simplest route, and the perpetual is only for traders who manage leverage. Bitget lists both DOGE spot and the DOGEUSDT perpetual; you can open an account with code nexu888 through our Bitget page, and compare its fees with other venues on the Bitget exchange profile first. For a wider view of the sector, our meme coin hub tracks DOGE alongside other meme tokens.
Quick answers
What is Dogecoin Labs? A company formed with the Dogecoin Foundation that owns and operates MyDoge, DogeOS and Such App. Jordan Jefferson is CEO.
Is Dogecoin Labs the same as the Dogecoin Foundation? No. The foundation keeps its open-source, advocacy and community role; Labs handles commercial products. The foundation and House of Doge contributed staff and intellectual property to Labs.
Does this change the Dogecoin blockchain? No. DogeOS is a separate system for apps. Dogecoin itself still handles coin transfers.
Can I use DogeOS apps today? Only on the public testnet with test DOGE. The featured apps are still marked "coming soon".
Why is DOGE price weak despite the news? DOGE was down about 14% over the month before the announcement, according to Decrypt, and the plan's main parts are not live. Announcements of plans usually move price less than working products.
Is there a DOGE ETF? Decrypt notes that a 21Shares DOGE ETF launched on Nasdaq this year, while Bitwise closed its own Dogecoin fund citing low demand.
