Binance P2P fees for EUR payments: the best €500 USDC ad cost 1.18% over spot

6 min

The short answer

Binance P2P fees for EUR payments run from 0% to 0.35% in Binance's general schedule, and the Express zone taker fee it announced for EUR falls between 0.1% and 0.2%. On a €500 order that is at most €1.75. The price of the ad usually costs more: at 10:54 SGT on November 7, the best €500 USDC ad paid by SEPA was €0.908 per USDC, about 1.18% above Binance's spot rate, or roughly €5.82.

Binance's fee page says rates vary by market, and we could not open the current EUR row. Read the fee line on your order screen, then compare the ad price with spot before you pay.

What Binance publishes about P2P fees

Three official pages together give the picture, and none of them states one fixed EUR rate.

The P2P introduction, last updated May 9, 2024, says Binance "may charge transaction fees from takers/makers for every completed order" and that fees vary per market. It adds that your payment provider may charge its own fees on top, so a bank or card app can add a cost Binance does not show.

The merchant guidelines say maker fees began in July 2021 and taker fees in September 2023, with rates "from 0% to 0.35%, depending on fiat markets and trading pairs". Verified merchants may get a further 20% to 50% discount on their own fees.

The September 2023 announcement lists EUR among the markets getting a taker fee on Binance Lite and the P2P Express zone, at 0.1% to 0.2% depending on the pair. That is three years old, so treat the range as Binance's stated framework and the order screen as the current number. The public ad listing we queried returned no fee value for these ads, which is another reason to check the screen.

What the ad price costs

Every P2P ad sets its own price. We compared the Binance P2P listing with Binance's EUR/USDC and EUR/USDT spot quotes in the same minute.

On spot, EUR/USDC was bid at 1.1143, so one USDC cost about €0.8974. EUR/USDT was bid at 1.1156, or about €0.8964 per USDT.

At the spot quote, €500 converts to 557.15 USDC before fees. The best P2P ad gave 550.66 USDC, a gap of 6.49 USDC. That is 3 to 12 times the published fee range on the same order, which is why the fee line alone can mislead you.

Selling is closer to spot. The best €500 USDC sell ad paid €0.894 by SEPA Instant, about 0.37% under spot. SEPA, Wise and N26 ads each topped out at €0.892, about 0.60% under. Buy €500 of USDC at €0.908 and sell it straight back at €0.894 and you end with €492.29, a loss of €7.71 or 1.54%, before any fee.

Bitcoin ads were thinner and much wider. Only five BTC buy ads appeared for EUR, and the cheapest asked €73,549.62 against a BTC/EUR spot quote of €68,140.07, which is 7.94% higher. In this snapshot, buying a stablecoin first and then using spot would have avoided most of that gap.

These are quotes from one minute. Ads change constantly and yours may differ by region and account.

How to find your real cost on an order

  1. Enter your exact amount in euros. At €500 the USDC list fell from 30 buy ads to 20, because each ad has a minimum and a maximum. The best USDC ad required at least €350.
  2. Filter by the payment method you will actually use. SEPA, N26 and Wise gave three different prices above.
  3. Divide the euros you pay by the coins you receive. Compare that with the current EUR/USDC or EUR/USDT spot rate, then add the fee line from the order screen.
  4. Read the seller's terms before placing the order. Binance's buying guide says to do this, and the merchant guidelines require additional-document filters on EUR ads from some merchants.
  5. Be wary of prices that look too good. One USDT sell ad offered €0.950 with a €29,000 minimum, well above spot. We cannot explain that price, so read its conditions and the counterparty's record.
  6. Pay first, then tap [Transferred, Notify Seller]. Binance warns against tapping it before paying and against cancelling after you have paid.

Cancelling also has a cost: Binance says three cancelled orders in a day suspend your buy function for that day. Its escrow holds the seller's crypto once you place an order and releases it after the seller confirms your payment. For more on order limits, see our Binance P2P buy steps.

Regional limits for EUR users

The same buying guide opens with a notice that "unauthorized stablecoins are subject to certain restrictions for EEA users" under MiCA. The public list showed 90 USDT buy ads for €500 against 20 for USDC, but a public list does not tell you what your own account can trade. If you are in the EEA, check which assets your account screen offers.

French users should check first. ChainCatcher, citing Cryptoast, reports that Binance France will close accounts on December 31 after failing to obtain MiCA approval, with deposits already unavailable and a monthly charge of 0.025%, minimum 10 USDC, from November 29 on accounts still holding assets. We could not open Binance's own notice, so confirm this in your account and in Binance's official messages.

The ad list also includes prices tied to Georgian banks, such as a €0.896 USDT ad paid through TBC Bank, close to spot. Those only help if you hold an account at that bank. Sending money from another bank breaks the ad's payment terms.

What a spot order would cost instead

On spot, €500 of EUR/USDC at the 1.1143 bid gives 557.15 USDC, less a 0.1% fee from our partner registry, for 556.59 USDC. That is 5.93 USDC more than the best P2P ad. The catch is that you need euros on your Binance account first, and we did not verify today's EUR deposit methods or fees for your country, so add those before you compare.

Our Binance profile lists its fees, and registering with code 11350287 returns 25% of Binance trading fees: €500 × 0.1% = €0.50 fee, and €0.50 × 25% = €0.125 back, paid hourly per our registry. That rebate is a share of the fee, and we did not confirm that it covers P2P orders. If you are still comparing venues, Bitget with code nexu888 returns 60%: €500 × 0.1% × 60% = €0.30 back on the same spot fee, though we did not check its EUR routes here. Our earlier Bybit P2P EUR article covers another venue's rule, and the Binance page is the place to start for this one.

Quick answers

Are Binance P2P fees charged to the buyer on EUR orders?

Binance says takers and makers may both be charged and that rates vary by market. Express zone and Lite orders were named for a 0.1% to 0.2% taker fee on EUR in 2023. Your order screen shows what applies.

Is P2P cheaper than Binance spot for euros?

In this snapshot, no. The best €500 USDC ad came to 550.66 USDC against 556.59 USDC on spot after a 0.1% fee, with EUR deposit costs still to add on the spot side.

Does my bank charge anything on top?

It may. Binance says payment providers may add their own fees, so check your bank's SEPA or instant transfer charges separately.

What we could not verify

We did not open Binance's live fee table for EUR, and we did not place a test order. The snapshot covers public ads only, not every region. EUR deposit costs on Binance, and the availability of EUR/USDC for each country, are also unconfirmed.
