Binance Adds Stock Perpetuals for CEG, BAC, IBKR and MDT: What Traders Should Check First
The short answer
On 21 October 2026, Binance Futures launched four USDT-priced perpetual contracts on US equities: Constellation Energy (CEG), Bank of America (BAC), Interactive Brokers (IBKR) and Medtronic (MDT). Trading opened between 09:00 and 09:20 UTC, runs 24 hours a day, allows up to 20x leverage, and settles funding every eight hours with the funding rate capped at plus or minus 2.00%. A perpetual contract tracks a price. It does not give you shares in the company.

What launched
Binance's notice dated 21 October 2026 says the four contracts will be admitted to trading at specific times on that day. The launch schedule was:
Article table: scroll horizontally, or focus the table area and use the arrow keys.
| Contract | Underlying equity | Launch time (UTC) |
|---|---|---|
| CEGUSDT | Constellation Energy Corporation common stock (Nasdaq: CEG) | 09:00 |
| BACUSDT | Bank of America Corporation common stock (NYSE: BAC) | 09:05 |
| IBKRUSDT | Interactive Brokers Group, Inc. Class A common stock (Nasdaq: IBKR) | 09:10 |
| MDTUSDT | Medtronic plc ordinary shares (NYSE: MDT) | 09:20 |
All four settle in USDT. The notice gives the same contract terms for each: a tick size of 0.01, a minimum trade of 0.01 share, a minimum notional value of 5 USDT, a capped funding rate of plus or minus 2.00%, funding every eight hours, a funding interest rate of 0%, maximum leverage of 20x, 24/7 trading, and support for multi-assets mode.
The same notice describes these contracts as a TradFi product under Binance's exchange and clearing rules. Read the full notice for the regulatory wording. What matters for a trader is the list of terms above.
What a stock perpetual is
A perpetual contract has no expiry date. Its price is meant to follow a reference price, and traders who hold a long or a short pay or receive a funding payment at each settlement, depending on which side is crowded. Here the reference is the price of a US equity, but the position is still a derivative, quoted and margined in USDT.

Three consequences follow from that. First, you do not vote as a shareholder, receive dividends from the company, or hold the stock in your brokerage. Second, the price you trade can drift from the stock quote during the hours the underlying market is closed, because your contract trades 24/7. Third, you carry the funding cost for as long as the position stays open, not only when you enter or exit.
The leverage arithmetic
Binance lists a maximum of 20x. That means the initial margin is at least 5% of the position's notional value. Here is our arithmetic on a sample position. Open 1,000 USDT of notional value at 20x, which needs about 50 USDT of margin. A 5% move against the position costs about 50 USDT before fees, which is all of that margin. Real liquidation thresholds depend on maintenance margin and the account mode, so check the position preview before you open a trade.
The minimum notional value is 5 USDT, so the smallest order is small in dollar terms. That does not make the risk small. It only makes it easier to take a position that is too big for your account.
Funding, step by step
Funding is charged or paid every eight hours. The notice caps the rate at plus or minus 2.00% per settlement, so the most a long pays in one settlement is 2.00% of its notional value, and the most a short pays is also 2.00%. Our arithmetic: a 1,000 USDT long at the cap would pay 20 USDT at one settlement. Actual funding is usually far smaller, but the cap sets the upper bound. Look at the funding rate shown in the contract page before you hold through a settlement, and remember that a held position can pay several settlements in a day.
Fees
Binance's futures fee page, which we last read on 10 October 2026, lists a regular user's USDⓈ-M perpetual maker fee at 0.02% and taker fee at 0.05%. The notice for these four contracts does not state a separate fee schedule, so check the fee line in the order preview. On a 1,000 USDT market order, a 0.05% taker fee is 0.5 USDT. Opening and closing that same position costs about 1 USDT in fees before funding and price moves.
How to act on this
If you want a short-term view on one of these stocks, a limit order near a level you have chosen, a small size and a stop plan are the minimum. If you already trade crypto perpetuals on Binance, the contracts use the same USDT margin and the same account, so the main new risk is the underlying price behaviour outside the stock market's hours. Quick answers
Do I own Medtronic or Bank of America shares when I buy these contracts? No. A perpetual is a derivative. It tracks a price, and it gives you no shareholder rights.
Can I trade these during US market hours only? No. The notice says trading is 24/7. Your contract price can move while the underlying exchange is closed, and the gap can be large when the market reopens.
What is the maximum leverage? 20x, according to the notice. Lower leverage gives a larger buffer against adverse moves.
How often is funding paid? Every eight hours. The rate is capped at plus or minus 2.00%.
What we could not verify
We did not verify the live funding rate, open interest or the price of any of the four contracts at the time of writing, so we have not stated any current quote. The fee numbers come from Binance's futures fee page as we read it on 10 October 2026, not from a fresh reading today. Whether these contracts are available in your country is set by Binance's eligibility rules, and the notice does not list the countries, so check that in the app before you rely on this article.
