Bitget vs MEXC (October 2026): Fees, Leverage and Markets Compared From Their Own APIs
The short answer
MEXC is cheaper per trade: its public API lists 0% maker and 0.05% taker on BTC, ETH and SOL spot pairs and 0% maker / 0.02% taker on the BTC and ETH USDT perpetuals, while Bitget charges a standard 0.1% on spot and 0.02% maker / 0.06% taker on every USDT-margined futures contract. Bitget gives back more through a referral rebate (up to 60% of fees versus up to 30% on MEXC), has tighter leverage caps (150x on BTC against MEXC's 500x) and offers US stock perpetuals, so the better choice depends on whether you trade small and often or care more about rebates and product range.

Spot trading: MEXC's zero-maker model vs Bitget's flat 0.1%
On spot, the two exchanges price trades in different ways. MEXC sets a fee for each pair. Of its 1,867 spot pairs, 1,082 carry 0% maker and 0.08% taker, 225 (including BTCUSDT, ETHUSDT, SOLUSDT and PEPEUSDT) carry 0% and 0.05%, 250 pairs are fully fee-free, and 204 smaller pairs charge 0.2% taker. A limit order that rests on the book therefore costs nothing on almost every MEXC pair.
Bitget's published standard spot rate is a flat 0.1% for both maker and taker. Its public symbol API lists 0.1% on 3,536 of 3,590 online pairs, and a higher 0.2% figure on a group of 54 pairs that includes BTCUSDT, ETHUSDT and SOLUSDT. Bitget's fee page and that API field do not match for those majors, so look at the fee line on the order confirmation before a large BTC spot buy.
A worked example makes the gap concrete. Buying 1,000 USDT of BTC with a market order costs about 0.50 USDT on MEXC and about 1.00 USDT on Bitget at the 0.1% fee-page rate. Placing a limit order instead brings MEXC to zero while Bitget stays at 1.00 USDT.

Futures: where most of the cost difference sits
For anyone who trades perpetuals, the futures schedule matters far more than spot. Every one of Bitget's 854 USDT-margined contracts uses the same 0.02% maker and 0.06% taker. MEXC splits its contracts into tiers: BTC and ETH USDT perpetuals sit at 0% maker and 0.02% taker, 602 contracts are at 0.01% and 0.04%, and 28 contracts, SOL_USDT among them, list 0% on both sides.
Article table: scroll horizontally, or focus the table area and use the arrow keys.
| Futures trade (taker) | Bitget fee | MEXC fee |
|---|---|---|
| 10,000 USDT BTC position, open and close | 12.00 USDT | 4.00 USDT |
| 10,000 USDT altcoin position on a 0.04% tier, open and close | 12.00 USDT | 8.00 USDT |
| 50,000 USDT of BTC volume in a month | 30.00 USDT | 10.00 USDT |
The rebate changes the picture for active traders. If you sign up on Bitget with a referral code and receive the full 60% rebate, the 30 USDT in the last row falls to about 12 USDT. With a 30% rebate on MEXC, the 10 USDT falls to about 7 USDT. MEXC still comes out cheaper on BTC, but the gap narrows, and on altcoin contracts in MEXC's 0.04% tier the two can end up close.
Leverage and risk limits
MEXC allows far more leverage: 500x on the BTC and ETH perpetuals and 300x on SOL, against 150x and 100x on Bitget. Higher leverage is a cap, not a target. At 150x a move of well under 1% against you can liquidate an isolated position, and at 500x the margin of error is smaller still. Both exchanges also lower the maximum leverage as a position grows, so a large order rarely gets the headline number. If you mostly trade 3x to 20x, the cap is not a reason to pick either one.
Products that differ
- US stock perpetuals. Bitget lists stock perps that trade around the clock in USDT; on 22 October 2026 it added Danaher (DHR) and AT&T (TSTOCK) contracts with up to 20x leverage and funding every eight hours. Our tokenized stocks hub tracks which venues list which tickers and how they settle.
- Number of coins. Bitget's API shows more spot pairs online, while MEXC lists more futures contracts in total. Both list new tokens quickly, which also means many thin markets: check the order book depth before trading a small coin on either.
- Fee tokens. MEXC takes 20% off fees paid in MX. Bitget offers a BGB fee offset, but the page we read did not state the percentage, so we leave it out of the maths.
Which one fits you
- High-frequency or scalping on BTC and ETH perpetuals: MEXC's 0%/0.02% is hard to beat even after Bitget's rebate.
- Limit-order spot traders: MEXC's 0% maker on most pairs wins.
- Traders who value a larger rebate, copy trading and stock perps in one account: Bitget, especially when you sign up with a referral code that returns part of every fee.
- Large balances: spread them across more than one venue rather than choosing one exchange for everything.
To act on this, open the account you prefer through our profile pages so the rebate is attached from the first trade: Bitget with code nexu888, or MEXC with code 4BRhe. A referral code only counts if you enter it during registration, so add it before you verify the account. For a wider view that includes OKX and Binance, see our fee comparison after rebates.
What we could not verify
MEXC's fee page returned an access-denied error from our location, so MEXC figures come from its official spot and contract APIs only. Bitget's spot API lists 0.2% on BTCUSDT, ETHUSDT and SOLUSDT while its fee page states 0.1%, and we could not confirm which one an account is billed at without a live trade. Neither exchange's KYC or regional availability is covered here.
Quick answers
Is MEXC cheaper than Bitget? Yes, on standard rates. BTC perpetuals cost 0.02% taker on MEXC versus 0.06% on Bitget, and most MEXC spot pairs have 0% maker fees.
Does a referral code change which is cheaper? It narrows the gap. A Bitget referral returns up to 60% of fees and a MEXC referral up to 30%, but MEXC usually remains cheaper on BTC and ETH perpetuals.
Which has higher leverage? MEXC, with up to 500x on BTC and ETH perpetuals; Bitget caps them at 150x.
Can I trade US stocks on either? Bitget lists US stock perpetuals such as DHR and AT&T in USDT. We did not find a matching MEXC product in the sources we read.
How many markets does each list? Bitget's API showed 3,590 online spot pairs and 854 USDT-margined futures; MEXC showed 1,867 spot pairs and 1,206 futures contracts.
