How to Buy USDT on Bybit: Card, P2P, Apple Pay or Fiat Balance, With Fees and Limits (October 2026)

10 min

The short answer

To buy USDT on Bybit, finish at least Standard identity verification, then open Buy Crypto (in the app: More, then Buy Crypto; on the website: Buy Crypto, then One-Click Buy), pick your local currency, choose USDT, type the amount and select a payment method. Bybit's own help pages list five routes: a Visa or Mastercard bank card, Apple Pay, P2P trading, a fiat balance you already hold, and third-party providers such as Banxa or MoonPay. Cards cost 2.10% when the card is issued in the EU or EEA and 3.70% elsewhere, Apple Pay costs 3.20%, and P2P charges no transaction fee in most currencies, so the cheapest route is usually P2P and the fastest is a card. The USDT lands in your Funding Account, usually within minutes.

Which method fits you

The table puts the five routes side by side using Bybit's published fee and limit pages, read on 23 October 2026. "Fee" is what Bybit charges; your bank or the payment provider can add its own.

The short version of the trade-off: a card is the simplest, but you pay a few percent for it. P2P is the cheapest on Bybit's side, but you deal with another person and have to pay carefully. A fiat balance is a clean middle path if you can fund it by local bank transfer first.

Before you start: verification, country and name

Identity verification is required. Bybit's One-Click Buy and bank card FAQs both say individual identity verification is needed; business verification is not supported for these routes. For P2P you need at least Standard Individual Verification plus a linked phone number and email address. If you have not registered yet, our Bybit sign-up and KYC guide walks through the account side first.

Check that Bybit serves your country. Bybit does not offer services to users in a list of excluded jurisdictions that includes the United States, mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Canada, North Korea, Cuba, Iran, Uzbekistan, Sudan and Syria, among others. The card feature has its own list of supported card-issuing countries, so being able to open an account does not automatically mean your card will work.

The name on the payment must be yours. Every route that moves money from a bank asks that the bank account or card matches your verified KYC name. For P2P the help page is blunt: a mismatched name can get your account suspended, and the seller may refuse to release the coins to you.

Turn on two-factor authentication. The fiat balance route requires 2FA before it works, and the app will ask for a security code on most payment confirmations anyway.

Step by step: One-Click Buy

These steps follow Bybit's help page "How to Buy Coins With One-Click Buy".

  1. Open the buy screen. On the app, go to More, then Buy Crypto. On the website, use Buy Crypto, then One-Click Buy.
  2. Choose the fiat currency you want to pay with, for example EUR, GBP, BRL or USD.
  3. Choose USDT as the coin you want to receive.
  4. Enter the amount. You can type the fiat amount or the number of USDT, whichever you prefer.
  5. Pick a payment method. The list that appears depends on the currency and coin you selected; it only shows routes that can handle your purchase.
  6. Press Buy with Fiat and check the payment details before confirming.
  7. Confirm and pay. Enter your security code and press Pay. For a first deposit you may be asked to create or link a virtual account.

Open the history icon on the same screen to track the order. Orders have a validity window of 30 minutes; if money reaches Bybit after the window closes, it is refunded within 7 business days, according to the One-Click Buy FAQ.

Card and Apple Pay: fees, limits and gotchas

The card schedule on Bybit's fee page splits by where the card was issued. Visa and Mastercard cards issued in EU and EEA countries pay 2.10%; Visa and Mastercard cards issued elsewhere pay 3.70%; the same schedule lists JCB cards at 5% for Asia. The bank card FAQ puts Apple Pay at 3.20% for all regions. The fee is a percentage of the filled order, and unfilled parts or canceled orders are not charged. Your own bank may add a foreign-exchange fee on top, which Bybit says can make the real cost higher or lower than the quoted figure.

Limits: each Visa, Mastercard or Apple Pay transaction must be between 10 and 10,000 USD. Across a whole account, the One-Click Buy FAQ lists these ceilings, which count fiat deposits and One-Click Buy purchases together:

Article table: scroll horizontally, or focus the table area and use the arrow keys.

Verification levelPer orderDailyWeeklyMonthly
Standardunder 10,000 USD20,000 USD50,000 USD100,000 USD
Advanced / Proup to 10,000 USD50,000 USD100,000 USD250,000 USD

Practical points from the same FAQ: corporate cards are not supported; your bank must allow international online payments and 3D Secure; you can link up to five cards, and a card linked to one Bybit account cannot be linked to another, even if the first account is deleted; and subaccounts cannot use card purchases, so buy on the main account and transfer. Apple Pay needs iOS 16.2 or later and works in a published list of countries, which includes Australia, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Japan, Switzerland and the UAE.

P2P and P2P Express: usually the cheapest route

P2P on Bybit matches you with another user who sells USDT for local money. Bybit holds the seller's coins during the trade, you pay the seller's bank or wallet account, press Payment Completed, and the seller releases the USDT. P2P Express automates the matching: you enter an amount and the system quotes a price, which Bybit describes as easier for beginners.

On fees, Bybit's "P2P on Bybit: Fees Explained" page states that currencies not listed on it are not subject to any transaction fees, and fees are only charged when an order completes. The page lists special schedules for NGN, AZN, RUB, GHS and TJS; for example, Azerbaijani manat trades carry 0.25% for both maker and taker. For most other currencies you pay no Bybit transaction fee, although your bank or payment provider may charge its own, and the real cost is the exchange rate in the seller's ad.

What to watch on P2P:

  • Only pay from an account in your own name, and pay the exact amount through the exact method on the order page.
  • Some advertisers ask for proof, such as a liveness check, photo ID, proof of payment or a bank statement. Bybit says these requests are legitimate when they come through the order flow; if you are uncomfortable sharing the information, you can cancel the order.
  • There is a daily cancellation limit. Exceeding it restricts P2P for 24 hours.
  • Risky transactions can trigger a 24-hour withdrawal restriction on the account.
  • A security deposit of 200 USDT can apply to takers, although Bybit says it may not be required and the amount can change.

Never release or confirm anything off-platform, and never pay a seller who asks you to move the chat to another app. Bybit's P2P safety pages cover scams and dispute handling; our OKX P2P guide explains the same payment and appeal habits, which carry over to any P2P market.

Fiat balance and third-party providers

Fiat balance. If you hold a fiat balance on Bybit (for example USD, EUR, GBP or BRL), you can buy USDT from it with the same Buy Crypto screen by selecting your balance as the payment method. The reference price refreshes every 30 seconds, orders above 20,000 USD use an OTC rate, and the coins arrive in the Funding Account within one to two minutes. This route needs 2FA enabled.

Third-party providers. Bybit does not handle these deposits itself. Providers listed on the help page include Banxa, MoonPay, Mercuryo, Neofi and Onramp, with Onmeta for Indian users. The website flow supports BTC, ETH and USDT through these providers, the quote on Bybit is for reference only, and you must pass the provider's own KYC. Compare the final amount shown, because the provider's fee is inside it.

Local rails that change the rules

Some currencies have their own methods, fees and conditions on the One-Click Buy pages:

Article table: scroll horizontally, or focus the table area and use the arrow keys.

PLNBLIK0.9% + 0.5 PLN; EEA-verified users; pay within 8 minutes
ZARInstant EFT1.5% (minimum 1 ZAR); South Africa individual-verified accounts only
JPYeCheck bank transfer3.5% + 2,000 JPY; a Japanese phone number is needed

GHSMobile moneyNo fee; USDT and USDC only
MXNBank transfer (fixed CLABE)Fee included in the displayed price; MXNB only
ARS, BRL, CLP, BOB, USDBank cardVirtual account required, extra personal details requested

Virtual-account review can take up to four business days, so do not plan a time-sensitive buy around a first-time setup.

After you pay: where the USDT is and what to do if it is late

Purchased coins appear in the Funding Account (app: Assets, then Funding; website: Assets, then Funding Account). Bybit says card and Apple Pay purchases are credited immediately or within 24 hours and usually in under 10 minutes. If an order is pending for a long time, remember that a One-Click Buy order is valid for 30 minutes; funds that arrive after that are refunded within 7 business days. For a BLIK payment that timed out after the money left your bank, the PLN is credited to your Bybit account first and you can convert it afterwards.

Once the USDT is in, the buy is only the first step. Spot trading on Bybit costs 0.10% maker and taker at the base VIP tier, according to the exchange-facts record NexuAlpha checked on 10 October 2026; our Bybit profile keeps the current fee table and our Bybit vs Bitget comparison shows how that compares with another large venue. If you are choosing where to buy USDT in the first place, the same exercise for another exchange is in our Binance USDT guide.

How to act on this

Start with a small test order, for example 20 to 50 USD, using the cheapest route available in your country, and look at the final USDT amount before you scale up. If you are new to Bybit, register through the Bybit sign-up link and enter referral code 48553 in the sign-up form before you press Sign Up Now: Bybit's registration page says a referral or affiliate code cannot be added, changed or deleted after the account exists.

What we could not verify

Bybit's pages say fees and limits can change, so the figures above are those on the pages on 23 October 2026. Which payment methods you actually see depends on your country, currency and coin, and the in-app list is the final word. We could not confirm from the help pages whether the optional 200 USDT P2P security deposit applies to every new account.
