Bybit Register: How to Create a Bybit Account, Pass KYC and Enter Referral Code 48553 (October 2026)

Step by step: creating the account

Bybit's help article "How to Register an Account" (last updated 17 August 2026) lists six steps for the website. The app follows the same order.

1. Open Sign Up. On the Bybit homepage, click Sign Up in the top right corner.
2. Pick your country of residence. Bybit may send you to a regional site or show a restricted-country notice at this point. Choose the country you actually live in; the KYC check later compares it with your documents.
3. Choose email or phone. Bybit recommends registering with an email address because email and Google Authenticator are both required before a withdrawal. It suggests Gmail, iCloud or ProtonMail and warns against a provider you might lose access to. If you use a phone number, enter it after the country code without the leading zero. You can also sign up with a Google, Apple or Telegram account.
4. Enter the referral code. Type 48553 in the referral field before clicking Sign Up Now. Bybit states that once the account is created you cannot add, change or delete a referral or affiliate code.
5. Verify. Complete the reCAPTCHA and type the code Bybit sends to your email or phone.
6. Set a password. You land on the account dashboard, where identity verification starts.

Each email address and each phone number can be linked to only one Bybit account, and Bybit asks for single-byte (standard Latin) characters in these fields.

Step by step: Standard KYC

Bybit's KYC guide (updated 6 July 2026) splits individual verification into three levels.

To start, click the profile icon, then Account, then Verify Now under Identity Verification. Select your country of residence, then the country that issued your document and the document type. Bybit accepts a passport, national ID card, residence permit or driving licence; it rejects student, work and travel visas. Take a clear photo that shows your full name, date of birth and expiry date, then complete the face scan with your laptop camera or by scanning a QR code with your phone. Some users also get a short identity questionnaire.

Bybit's KYC FAQ (updated 20 August 2026) says verification generally takes about 15 minutes and can take up to 48 hours. If it runs longer, submit a support case; Bybit says the team replies within one working day.

What you can and cannot do before KYC

Bybit's "Benefits of Different KYC Levels" table (updated 6 October 2026) marks deposits, spot trading, derivatives, P2P, Earn products and reward claims as unavailable for accounts without verification. The FAQ goes further: at least Standard verification is mandatory for all Bybit products and services. In practice, a new account is only useful after the ID check, so it makes sense to finish both steps in one sitting.

Who cannot register

Bybit's "Service Restricted Countries" page (updated 16 October 2026) excludes users in the United States, the Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong, Singapore, Canada, North Korea, Cuba, Iran, Uzbekistan, Sudan, Syria, Crimea and the non-government-controlled areas of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia. The KYC FAQ adds a point many people miss: restrictions are checked against your nationality, not only your current residence. If you hold a passport from a restricted country, read that page before you start. In some countries Bybit runs a separate regional entity, and the country selector in step 2 redirects you there.

What code 48553 adds for a new user

Bybit's referral FAQ (updated 10 October 2026) sets these tasks for anyone who signs up with a referral code on or after 10 October 2026, 12:00 UTC:

That is up to 250 USDT for the new account, and the same FAQ says a referred friend can also receive an extra $100 Welcome Gift. Spot, derivatives, options, Earn, Convert and several other products count toward the volume. Rewards pass a three-day risk review and must be claimed within 10 days after they are issued, and claims from the Rewards Hub require Standard KYC, which is one more reason to verify on day one. The programme applies to Bybit Global users only.

Fees after you register

Bybit's official fee article, as recorded in our exchange data on 10 October 2026, lists VIP 0 rates of 0.10% maker and 0.10% taker for spot, and 0.02% maker and 0.055% taker for perpetual and futures contracts. If Bybit serves your country, the fastest route is: open the Bybit sign-up link, confirm 48553 is in the referral box, register with email, turn on Google Authenticator straight away (you need it to withdraw), and complete Standard KYC before your first deposit.
