OKX VELODROME to AERO migration: the conversion ratio, snapshot and trading shutdown schedule

6 min

The short answer

OKX will convert eligible VELODROME balances to AERO at a ratio of 1:0.044, using an account snapshot at 14:00 SGT on 3 November 2026. The exchange will close different spot pairs in stages before that snapshot and credit converted tokens to funding accounts after migration; holders should check the balance threshold and pending transfers before the suspension. These dates and conditions come from the OKX migration notice published on 23 October, source S1.

What OKX announced

The notice separates the removal of trading pairs, suspension of asset movements, account snapshot and conversion into distinct steps. That sequence matters if you hold VELODROME in an account or have an order waiting to execute. A trading-pair closure is not the conversion itself, and the snapshot happens after the announced suspension of transfers, deposits and withdrawals. S1 is the exchange's operational notice; the NexuAlpha announcement feed, source S2, supplies a reference to that notice rather than a separate promise about account balances.

These Singapore times are the notice's UTC times plus eight hours. For example, its 06:00 UTC snapshot becomes 14:00 SGT, and the 12:00 UTC migration start becomes 20:00 SGT on the same date. Keep the snapshot time separate from the later processing window when reviewing your account.

Which balances enter the conversion

OKX says the snapshot covers both funding and trading accounts. Eligible VELODROME will be converted at the stated ratio and the resulting AERO credited to the funding account. The destination is therefore specified even if the original balance appeared in the trading account. After completion, eligible VELODROME is converted and VELODROME no longer appears in the asset list, according to S1.

The notice excludes holdings under 10 VELODROME, with open orders excluded from that threshold wording. It also says assets being withdrawn or not yet credited at the snapshot are outside the migration. Do not treat a transfer submission as proof that a balance has arrived: the notice's test is the credited position at the snapshot, not the time you pressed a transfer button. Review the transaction status alongside the balance rather than relying on an order or transfer request alone.

Exactly 10 VELODROME is not “under 10” in the notice's wording. That reading does not resolve account-specific precision or rounding, which the fetched announcement does not explain. Someone close to the threshold should distinguish the displayed balance from quantities still in transit and ask support about an unresolved account discrepancy before the suspension.

How the 1:0.044 ratio works

The conversion arithmetic is old-token quantity multiplied by 0.044. An eligible balance of 1,000 VELODROME would therefore correspond to 44 AERO: 1,000 × 0.044 = 44. An eligible balance of 100 VELODROME would correspond to 4.4 AERO: 100 × 0.044 = 4.4. These are calculations using S1's ratio, not examples of completed account credits.

That ratio describes token quantities. It does not say that the numerical balance stays the same, and it does not supply a cash valuation. The notice explicitly says VELODROME valuation will be unavailable during migration. Comparing a pre-migration token count with a post-migration token count without applying the ratio would misread the announced process. Keep a record of the eligible starting quantity so that the resulting token amount can be checked against the stated multiplication.

The exchange has not supplied an account-level rounding rule in the fetched notice. We therefore do not turn the examples into a guarantee of the exact number of decimal places shown in an account. A reconciliation should start with the recorded snapshot quantity, the published ratio and the final account entry, then identify any difference that needs an explanation.

Orders and connected trading services

The first spot closures concern the USDC and EUR pairs on 30 October. The USDT pair follows on 3 November. OKX also says related services such as Convert, Copy trading and Trading bots will be suspended accordingly. A user with a bot or copied strategy involving VELODROME should inspect that service as well as the ordinary spot-order screen; reviewing only a single pair could miss another place where the asset is being used.

Pending orders on the affected pairs will be canceled under the announced schedule. An order waiting in the book is therefore not a plan for trading through the migration. If you need to change a position before a pair closes, first check which pair remains available and whether the service you use has already been suspended. This is an operational reading of S1's sequence, not a claim that every service stays available until the final snapshot.

The OKX profile provides a separate route to venue information. The migration itself is governed by the asset-specific notice, so general trading information should not be used to replace its pair-by-pair dates or exclusions.

What to check before and after the snapshot

Before the closure windows, review pending VELODROME orders, any connected bot or copy service, credited account balances and outstanding withdrawals. Keep the funding and trading accounts together in that review because the notice includes both in its snapshot. Record the relevant quantities and transaction statuses so that you can compare them with the funding-account credit after processing.

After migration, look in the funding account for AERO and compare the credited quantity with the eligible VELODROME quantity multiplied by 0.044. The exchange says it will separately announce AERO deposit, withdrawal and trading opening times, so completion of conversion alone should not be read as an opening notice for those services. For venue navigation, use the OKX exchange page, then check the asset's current service status in your account.

What we could not verify

The fetched notice does not provide the exact completion time, account-specific rounding treatment, or the future opening times for AERO deposits, withdrawals and trading. It says the planned processing period may be extended because the migration requires coordination with the project team and other parties. No account snapshot or completed credit was available to this report.

Quick answers

What is the announced conversion ratio?

S1 specifies 1 VELODROME to 0.044 AERO. Multiply the eligible old-token quantity by 0.044 to calculate the corresponding new-token quantity before any account-specific rounding treatment.

When does OKX take the snapshot?

The announced snapshot is at 14:00 SGT on 3 November 2026, equivalent to the source's 06:00 UTC. Funding and trading accounts are both included.

Will a withdrawal in progress count?

The notice says VELODROME being withdrawn or not yet credited at the snapshot will not be included. Check the completed account status rather than relying on the transfer request timestamp.

Where will AERO appear?

OKX says converted AERO will be credited to the funding account. The new asset's deposit, withdrawal and trading opening times will be announced separately.

Can the migration take longer than planned?

Yes. S1 states that coordination with the project team and other parties may extend the planned migration period.
