OKX vs Binance vs Bybit (2026): Spot and Futures Fees, Fee Discounts, Referral Rebates and Which One to Pick

5 min

The short answer

For a regular account with no VIP level, OKX has the lowest spot maker fee of the three at 0.08%, while Binance and Bybit charge 0.10% maker and 0.10% taker. On USDT perpetual futures, OKX and Binance both charge 0.02% maker and 0.05% taker, and Bybit charges 0.02% maker and 0.055% taker, so Bybit costs about 10% more per taker order.

The bigger differences come after the headline rate: Binance cuts spot fees by 25% and USDⓈ-M futures fees by 10% when you pay in BNB, Bybit's VIP 1 tier drops perpetual taker fees to 0.04%, and signing up through a partner code returns a share of every fee on OKX and Binance. If you mostly trade futures with market orders, the venue with a fee rebate attached usually ends up cheapest.

These are the regular-user (VIP 0) rates. OKX and Binance rates come from their official fee pages as recorded in our exchange facts file on 10 October 2026; Bybit's we re-read today from its official Trading Fee Structure article.

Bybit's article adds a warning worth taking seriously: actual fee rates may vary by region, and the correct number is the one shown on its My Fee Rate page after identity verification. Binance's futures FAQ says the same in its own way, pointing each user to a personal fee-rate page.

What those rates cost on real volume

Percentages hide the money. Here is what 10,000 USDT of trading costs at the base rates, our arithmetic from the table above.

The gap between the venues on a single trade is small. It grows with frequency: someone who opens and closes 100,000 USDT of perpetual positions a month with market orders pays 100 USDT on OKX or Binance and 110 USDT on Bybit before any discount. Our Binance vs OKX comparison page runs the same maths with live data, and the fee rates board lists every venue we track.

How each venue lowers your fee

Binance: BNB and VIP tiers. Paying fees in BNB takes 25% off spot fees and 10% off USDⓈ-M futures fees. Binance's futures FAQ adds a condition many users miss: the BNB has to sit in your USDⓈ-M Futures wallet, and if the balance runs short, the system charges USDT and you lose the discount for that trade. Binance also says all spot VIPs are futures VIPs, and the futures volume needed for each tier is five times the spot requirement because of leverage.

Bybit: VIP levels refreshed daily. Bybit's VIP 1 rates are 0.08% spot taker, 0.0675% spot maker, 0.04% perpetual taker and 0.018% perpetual maker. VIP levels are recalculated every day at 07:00 UTC, sub-accounts inherit the main account's level, and the rate applied is the level you hold at the moment the order is placed.

OKX: the lowest starting maker rate. OKX does not publish a fee-token discount on its fee page, but its 0.08% regular spot maker rate is already the lowest of the three, so patient limit-order traders start ahead.

Referral codes and fee rebates

A referral code does not change the posted fee, but on some venues it returns part of every fee you pay. These are the codes from our partner registry; the OKX exchange profile and the other profiles list current terms.

Put the rebate into the 100,000 USDT monthly perpetual example: OKX fees of 100 USDT come back down to 60 USDT after a 40% return, and Binance fees of 100 USDT drop to 75 USDT after 25%. That is a larger saving than any difference in the posted rates. The code must be entered when you register; adding it to an existing account is usually not possible.

Which one to pick

  • You place limit orders on spot: OKX starts at 0.08% maker, the lowest of the three.
  • You already hold BNB or trade large spot volume: Binance, because the 25% BNB discount takes spot fees to 0.075%.
  • You trade perpetuals with market orders: OKX or Binance at 0.05% taker, then the referral return decides it; Bybit becomes competitive once you reach VIP 1 at 0.04% taker.
  • You want one account for everything: compare each venue's product list on its profile page, such as the Bybit profile and the Binance profile, because fees are only one part of the choice.

Where you live matters too. Our guide on whether OKX is allowed in the US covers OKX's U.S. entity. Check availability in your country before you deposit.

How to act on this

If you have not opened an account yet, decide by how you trade, then register through the code that returns part of the fee. A futures trader doing 100,000 USDT a month on OKX keeps about 40 USDT a month by opening the account through nexualpha.com/go/okx with code nexu888. Our earlier pair-by-pair comparisons, OKX vs Binance fees and Binance vs Bybit fees, go deeper on withdrawal costs.

Quick answers

Which is cheapest, OKX, Binance or Bybit? At regular-user rates, OKX is cheapest for spot limit orders at 0.08% maker. For perpetual futures OKX and Binance tie at 0.02% maker and 0.05% taker, and Bybit is slightly higher at 0.055% taker.

Does Binance's BNB discount apply to futures? Yes, 10% off USDⓈ-M futures fees, but only if enough BNB is in your USDⓈ-M Futures wallet; otherwise the fee is charged in USDT without the discount.

How fast can I reach a lower Bybit tier? Bybit recalculates VIP levels daily at 07:00 UTC. VIP 1 cuts the perpetual taker fee from 0.055% to 0.04%.

Can I add a referral code after registering? Usually not. Enter the code during sign-up so the fee return applies from your first trade.

Are the fees the same in every country? No. Bybit says rates may vary by region, and both Bybit and Binance show your personal rate on a fee page inside the account.
